Re: Bachelor 12 Media Thread

Ellen asked where they planned on living, there was a slight pause and then Matt said he wants to live in L.A. and Shayne wants to live in London. They talked about having two kids one in London and one in L.A.

I thought Shayne looked gorgeous. She had on a nice white dress with a silver wide belt at the waist.

With the new haircut, Shayne is a dead ringer for Shanna Moakler.

Re: Bachelor 12 Media Thread

Final Conference Call with Matt and Shayne

Operator: Welcome to Disney's The Bachelor: London Calling - The Happy Couple call with Cathy Rehl as the leader. This call is being recorded. By staying on this call, you are confirming that you consent to this recording. If you do not wish to be recorded, please disconnect from the call at this time.

Thank you. Ms. Rehl, you may now begin your call.

Cathy Rehl: Welcome everybody. Thank you. I know we're a few minutes late, so I'll get on with it. Well as you now know, there's no need to just call them the Happy Couple anymore. They actually - we actually know who Matt picked and proposed to and that is Shayne Dahl Lamas.

And before we start with the questions and answers, I know most of you are going to want to know about the ring, so I'm going to give you some of those details up front.

It is a Tacori Platinum and Diamond ring. It is nearly three carats. It's eight point - I'm sorry, 2.85 carats exactly. It's Platinum and Diamond Eternity Ring featuring a round brilliant cut center stone, round side stones spotlighting the center stone, channel set round diamonds along the band and round Pave set diamond details adorning the crescent silhouette.

So that's all the details we have on the ring. It is valued at close to $60,000.

Matt Grant: Quite cheap on that.

Cathy Rehl: At any rate, I think now we are ready for your questions.

Operator: Ladies and gentlemen, if you would like to ask a question, please press star then the number 1 on your telephone keypad. We'll pause for just a moment to compile the Q&A roster.

Your first question comes from the line of Matt Liebowitz from Flash News.

Matt Liebowitz: Hi guys. Congratulations.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you.

Matt Grant: Thanks, Matt.

Matt Liebowitz: I'm going to start off right with kind of an offbeat question. Matt, are you afraid at all of Shayne's dad, being that he played, you know, the Renegade?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: He better be. That's for sure.

Matt Liebowitz: Other kind of, you know, badass characters.

Matt Grant: Well I'm actually hoping - you know, I spoke to Lorenzo recently and, you know, we're looking forward to do Renegade II, Father and Son-in-Law.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: I think that would be perfect.

Matt Grant: Oh, I bet. A six-foot-five, 240 pound Brit on the back of his Harley. I'm sure it - you'd see the (inaudible) as well.

Matt Liebowitz: Yeah, I'm sure. Shayne, is - do you think your dad is going to take it easy on Matt? Is he going to be protective or is he protective? Is he going to relax a little?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: My father is very protective. He has three, you know, little girls and he has me as his older daughter. So he's very protective of his girls. But he fell in love with Matt just like I did and he loves Matt, and welcomes him into our family with open arms.

Matt Liebowitz: Okay, great. Matt, sort of a follow-up - do you - so no plans to - you know, you're joining an acting family. Are you going to get bit by the acting bug yourself?

Matt Grant: I can't really - well I can't really act, to be honest with you.

Matt Liebowitz: Really?

Matt Grant: I could take some lessons off Lorenzo and Shayne, but, you know, we'll see. There's obviously lots of opportunities there - ahead and, you know, never say never.

Matt Liebowitz: Okay, great. Thanks so much guys. Congratulations.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you. Have a good day.

Matt Grant: No problem. Bye.

Matt Liebowitz: Yeah, you too.

Operator: Your next question comes from the line of Chris Rocchio from Reality TV World.

Chris Rocchio: Hi guys. Congratulations.

Matt Grant: Thanks, Chris. How are you doing?

Chris Rocchio: Good. Good to talk to you again, Matt.

((Crosstalk))

Matt Grant: Good to talk to you as well.

Chris Rocchio: I hate to even have to bring this up but, you know, given the show's poor track record, there are already people out there who don't think you guys will last more than a few months.

Matt Grant: (Unintelligible).

Chris Rocchio: You know, what would you guys say to those people?

Cathy Rehl: Guys, talk one at a time okay so you can - so everybody can hear. Go ahead, I'm sorry.

Chris Rocchio: So what would you guys say to those doubters?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Well I would say first of all we've already been together for three months. And they, you know, are not in our relationship and they have nothing to do with our relationship. And we're madly in love.

And we're not going to put any pressure on ourselves, but we're in it until the end. We're engaged and we're going to get married. And it's forever.

Chris Rocchio: Okay. So have you guys discussed long term plans yet, you know, such as how long you are going to be engaged or when the wedding is going to be?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Yeah, we have touched on it briefly. We're going to be engaged, you know, in - for awhile and see how the living situation goes. I know we're going to do a lot of traveling this year and when we're ready to set a date as a couple, we will do that together.

And we will make our commitment to each other. But as of right now, we do not have a date. We're just thrilled about our engagement and we're celebrating that at the moment.

Chris Rocchio: Okay. So you just mentioned the living situation. Have you guys discussed, you know, LA, London? Are you going to try a long distance relationship?

Matt Grant: Say that again, Chris, sorry.

Chris Rocchio: Shayne, you just mentioned the living situation.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh right.

Chris Rocchio: So where are you guys thinking?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Well we love both. So, you know, I have family in LA and he has family in London. You know, we'll do both. We'll, you know, we'll go back and forth. We'll travel a lot and we'll have homes in both.

Chris Rocchio: Okay. All right. Thanks guys.

Matt Grant: Thank you.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you.

Operator: Your next question comes from the line of Delaina Dixon from OK Magazine.

Delaina Dixon: Hey guys. Congratulations.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you.

Matt Grant: Thank you.

Delaina Dixon: So Matt, we've spoke a couple times. I'm wondering, you know, you're engaged to an actress and I'm wondering how - are you ready for the lifestyle that comes with that? How are you going to deal with, you know, dealing with people like me asking a lot of questions about your life?

How - when are you guys going to get married? When are the babies coming? Are you ready for that? How have you prepared yourself mentally?

Matt Grant: I wouldn't really have to concern myself, would I? But...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh baby, that's sweet.

Matt Grant: Yeah, you just, you know, it's just important to keep your private life private and, you know, I think that as long as the two of us just laugh it off with our sense of humor that we share, then I think everything will be fine.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: I think we have given the public - we have let them into our lives, you know, a lot and they've seen what's happened to both of us. And, you know, they've watched our engagement.

So I think as far as now, you know, we'll let the public in but we'll try to - we'll try so hard to keep our lives private so we have something for ourselves and our family.

Delaina Dixon: Well then I'm probably not going to help with my next one.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh, you shoot. You can ask any questions you want. Today is a free-all.

Delaina Dixon: Well I wanted to ask - you know, I know you guys, unlike a lot of other couples, had a chance to talk to each other regularly on the phone and things like that and meet.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Right.

Delaina Dixon: While you were having those meetings, did you discuss the show as you were watching it unfold? And what were some of the things that came up during your conversations?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh darling. Let me tell you one thing. That was a mistake watching it together. I will never do that again or if we do watch it together, we'll rewind through parts we don't want to watch.

But we did discuss - you know, the thing is Matt and I from the beginning had a very open and honest relationship and we were honest with each other. I mean, that night of our engagement we sat on the balcony.

I said okay, you have to tell me everything. You know, we're engaged. You have to tell me what you felt about Amanda, what you felt about Chelsea. And he was completely honest.

Matt Grant: It was a fun conversation.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Yeah, it was great. But I wanted to hear the honesty whether I liked it or not because we were engaged and I wanted to know what happened and what went down. So we have been completely honest with each other 100%.

And if I - you know, if I called him and told him babe, I did not like you on TV tonight, you know, and it was hard.

Matt Grant: Yeah, she created an alter ego called Bob who was me on television.

Delaina Dixon: Okay.

Matt Grant: And that enabled us to sort of flag off Bob. You know, Bob was such a you know what tonight and Bob, God, did you hear what Bob said? I just hate that guy.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Yeah, I would call him and I would say babe, I do not like Bob. Bob is not being nice.

Delaina Dixon: So it seems like Matt, you do have an acting career coming out here and you're already playing a second personality.

Matt Grant: Yeah.

Delaina Dixon: One last question. Looking back and watching the show, do you kind of see -- Matt, this is for you -- did you kind of see that she was the one? Like watching it, you're like I kind of knew it from day one?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh, he better say he did, baby.

Matt Grant: Yeah, definitely. Well I knew as soon as - yeah, watching it, you know, the point is, you know, when I proposed I just said the only reason why there's been any kind of question really is just because it just seemed too good to be true.

And, you know, I meant that hand to heart. It was, you know, right from the first moment that I set my eyes on Shayne I was like - I was blown away.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Yeah, I agree. I think we both kind of felt - I mean...

Matt Grant: No, (unintelligible) you took a bit longer.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Huh?

Matt Grant: You took a bit longer, didn't you?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh, no. But I mean, I - but who wants to really fall in love on...

Matt Grant: Yeah.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: ...you know, you're going there hoping that you do, but it's amazing when you actually start and then it's almost too surreal to believe that it's actually happening; that God actually created a moment for you two to meet in that way.

I mean, that's a huge blessing and huge gift that we have. We get to look back on when we first laid eyes on each other. You know, it's - for our grand...

Matt Grant: She does this little shimmy with her shoulders. It's hilarious if you watch it again.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh - be kidding. He makes fun of my shimmy and with my shoulders. All right, babe. All right.

Delaina Dixon: Well I wish you guys the best of luck.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you so much.

Matt Grant: Thank you very much.

Delaina Dixon: Take care.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Bye.

Matt Grant: Bye.

Operator: Your next question comes from the line of Gina Scarpa from BuddyTV.

Gina Scarpa: Hey guys. Congratulations.

Matt Grant: Hi Gina.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you. Hi.

Gina Scarpa: Okay, Matt, I'm going to start with you and my question from last week. What is the first thing you noticed about Shayne that was different once the cameras were turned off?

Matt Grant: I just - I was pretty skeptical a little bit about (unintelligible) the thing that hit me the most in the - we went on that estate, to the winery in California and we had some alone time.

I mean, it was like - the whole car was rigged out with cameras so you weren't - even when we were in the car we weren't even completely alone. But we had the odd moment and that was the first time really...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh, we were singing to the radio, remember?

Matt Grant: Singing to the radio and stuff. And I was just...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: We were singing to the radio.

Matt Grant: The things that hit was when you did the ring - but the thing that hit me was just that she - how much she made me laugh and how she laughed - a (unintelligible) and how great her laugh was. She's got this brilliant laugh and sort of head tipped back...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Okay, babe. Don't make me laugh.

Matt Grant: It's quite funny.

Gina Scarpa: And Shayne, how do you respond to what Chelsea said last night in the finale that you were the fakest person on the show?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Yeah, I was caught off guard to be honest with you. I mean, I have nothing against Chelsea and we, you know, we spoke a few times. It's not like we became best friends, but we definitely had nothing against each other.

And, you know, when she said that, it actually kind of hurt to be honest with you because there was absolutely no reason for her to say that. And - but other than that, you know, it's hard.

She lost the man that she fell in love with and I completely understand. And if that's the way that she dealt with it, then that's the way she dealt with it. And I'm sorry that it had to be at my expense, but it was.

And I wish her all the very best. And I hope she's happy.

Gina Scarpa: Okay, guys. Thank you so much and good luck together.

Matt Grant: Thanks, Gina.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you.

Operator: Your next question comes from Sandy Caetano from Metro Toronto.

Sandy Caetano: Hey guys. How's it going? Congratulations.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you. How are you?

Matt Grant: Thank you. How's Canada?

Sandy Caetano: Canada is good.

Matt Grant: Good.

Sandy Caetano: Actually getting some warm weather down here, so that's good.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: What part are you?

Matt Grant: Toronto.

Sandy Caetano: I'm from Toronto, Ontario.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Great, love Toronto.

Matt Grant: Never been.

Sandy Caetano: So Matt, I know you said that you're crazy about American women, so what is it that drives you absolutely crazy for them?

Matt Grant: Is that like a (unintelligible)...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Besides the Canadian women (unintelligible).

((Crosstalk))

Matt Grant: (Unintelligible) if you're a Canadian.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Great question, love it.

Matt Grant: I can't say I like Canadian women anymore, can I?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: No baby, you can. Of course.

Matt Grant: So what is it? I mean, it's what I've been going on about for the last three months really and it's kind of encapsulated in Shayne. It's - there is a self-assuredness and self-confidence which is far from arrogant and that I love.

And Shayne encapsulates that for me as well. I mean, she's so kind and caring and considerate about all her friends and family, and other people around her (unintelligible) respect - a natural giver.

She's also in a great confidence - a strong in herself as well which that balance is quite rare in Britain to have that balance without being arrogant and cocky, and, you know, (unintelligible).

Sandy Caetano: Great. And Shayne, what was it about Matt that caught your eye?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: The thing that - what was - I would have to say, first of all, he's handsome. And if you ever are in his presence, his aura and his presence is just unbelievable. He's just amazing.

Matt Grant: I didn't pay her to say that.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: I just - being in the same room with him. I mean, his friends even say the same thing. He's - it's just presence and how he holds himself, you know, with great class and, you know.

He's very tall, too. That's great for short women because we can wear high shoes.

Sandy Caetano: Great. Thank you so much guys. Congratulations again.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you. Have a good one.

Matt Grant: Thank you, Sandy.

Operator: Your next question comes from Laura Saltman from Access Hollywood.

Laura Saltman: Hey guys.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Hello.

Matt Grant: Hello.

Laura Saltman: That was the perfect question to lead into what I was going to ask, which is about the shoes. Matt, you seem very laid back and Shayne seems to like to shop and she likes her shoes, and probably her purses. And didn't any of that scare you?

Matt Grant: Well I...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: He ran for the hills, I tell you. I had to go find him.

Matt Grant: Yeah, Beverly Hills. Do you get that? And so I love shopping as well. I can't wait - I was (mincing) around Barney's recently in Beverly Hills.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh, you have to listen to this story.

Laura Saltman: Yeah.

Matt Grant: So...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh Matt, you can share it.

Matt Grant: No, I was just - I love shopping and I was just thinking I can't wait to see us shopping together because I must admit I do commit some cardinal sins when it comes to fashion sometimes.

And, you know, most of the time I kind of follow the sort of - an all right, kind of acceptable level but I know that will be something Shayne is going to be like what are you doing?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Yeah.

Matt Grant: It's quite clear that shirt does not go with those trousers.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Take that off, man.

Matt Grant: I'm looking forward to that little bit of better quality judgment coming in now.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Okay.

Matt Grant: And I'm looking forward in all seriousness until we can go out and shop together, and, you know, I can (mince) around the ladies department.

Laura Saltman: All right then.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Good answer.

Matt Grant: Baby, why don't you tell...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: I just have a little funny story to tell you.

Laura Saltman: Okay.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: I was shopping at Barney's the other day and I'm shopping around. And I decided to call Matt and see what he was doing because I know he's in LA, you know. We're both running around the same places here, but we can't see each other.

So I call him. I'm like baby, what are you doing? And he's like, I'm at Barney's eating lunch. And I said oh my goodness, I'm at Barney's. And I bolted out the door, got in my car and left. I mean, it was so hilarious.

Matt Grant: It was really funny because I was on the roof terrace where there's food.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: So he was on the roof terrace and I was in the shoe section...

Laura Saltman: (Unintelligible)

((Crosstalk))

Shayne Dahl Lamas: I was (unintelligible) hilarious.

Laura Saltman: And so you guys just couldn't even chance seeing each other, especially at Barney's?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Couldn't - and we had a plan set, too.

Matt Grant: Yeah, I'd crack up. I'd just start laughing.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: We had a plan set saying okay, if we ever run into each other in LA while we're here, whoever is there first gets to stay and whoever comes second has to turn around and leave. So that was our plan. So...

Laura Saltman: That's funny.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Once I called him and found out he was there, I...

Laura Saltman: Now obviously, you've been busy filming the show, but there - Matt, you especially, you had a job and your job was in London. So are you - have you taken a leave of absence on that job? Did you leave...

Matt Grant: Yeah, my job is open for me when I return which is really kind of my boss and (James McConnell), who is a little bit of an Obi Wan Kenobi to me, if I'm honest with you. He's a good friend also and been a mentor over the years and work (unintelligible) back to Scotland.

And so the job at Citi is available when I go back and that's if I go back. I mean, we're just discussing sort of at the moment and nothing is clear. It's kind of - we're really just discussing where we're going to live, what we're going to do.

I think the most important thing is we be together. Neither of us want the long distance relationship. And, you know, we're discussing it. I'm sorry, I can't give you a clear answer on that.

Laura Saltman: Yeah. Well obviously you're - you have enough money to not have to work?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Yeah, darling, we're...

Matt Grant: (Unintelligible)

((Crosstalk))

Laura Saltman: I think Shayne wants to know.

Matt Grant: I'm very fortunate as well that that job is there and I'm very appreciative of (James McConnell) actually at Citibank, so (unintelligible).

Laura Saltman: Okay. Two more really quick questions - number one, Monkey - where did that come from?

Matt Grant: Monkey.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh...

Matt Grant: That comes from the fact - I think it started off in...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: It started in...

Matt Grant: Actually snow monkey. If you wanted to delve into the sort of history of monkey, it comes from Idaho Sun Valley. And it's when we were all in our kind of snowboard - Shayne was in her snowboard outfit. I was in my ski outfit and we were kind of cuddling around in the snow. And...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: And then he started calling me snow monkey. And then the next day I think I jumped on his back.

Matt Grant: She was this monkey...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: And he was just like, you're just monkey - monkeying around. And so - and then so short, too, compared to him.

Matt Grant: The size difference. I'm 6'5" and she's 5'2".

Shayne Dahl Lamas: He looks down on me when I'm just walking around. I mean, I'm 5'2" and he just calls me monkey.

Matt Grant: She jumps on my back. You see it in Barbados when she's on my back.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Yeah.

Laura Saltman: Yeah. All right. And my last question is a serious one - and that is, Shayne - it's for Shayne. Considering the history that your parents have when it comes to marriage, didn't it concern you to jump into something like this with a man who was in love with somebody else as well or falling in love with somebody else, and then to get engaged to him when you're not - I mean, you're not 100% because if you were 100% you would be talking about we would go get tomorrow.

But instead you guys are going to take some time to continue the relationship...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Well see, I think that's exactly why we are taking some time because I look at marriage very seriously and I know Matt does. And, you know, we want to give ourselves time for us and for our relationship to grow.

And, you know, not have pressure on ourselves. We're engaged and that's a huge step just as it is there. So I think that, you know, rushing into marriage right away - I mean, that - we're engaged. That's 100%.

I mean, there's a ring on my finger. Baby, I am taken. You know, so there's - as far as the wedding and making those plans, that will happen when we're ready.

But right now, you know, I'm working and I'm going to be traveling to London. And, you know, so we've got a lot to do just being engaged together.

Laura Saltman: All right guys. Well best of luck to you.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you.

Matt Grant: Thanks very much.

Operator: Your next question comes from Jason Oropallo from RealityWanted.com.

Jason Oropallo: Hey guys. Congratulations.

Matt Grant: Hi Jason.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Hi Jason.

Jason Oropallo: Hey. So I guess, Shayne, this question is for you I guess. You know, in the beginning obviously, you know, you come in the house and you meet a bunch of other women. And there's a lot of competition going on and over time.

How long did it take you before you'd say you started to fall in love with Matt?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: I believe I started falling in love with Matt the moment I laid my eyes on him. You know, I - if I walked up and saw this man, right, and I was not attracted to him or did not feel anything, I literally probably would've faked being sick and ran for the hills, to be honest with you.

Because it wasn't a competition for me. I mean, I didn't go in thinking okay, I'm going to try to win this guy or do this. I mean, I went in genuinely wanting to find love. I would have done this without the cameras 100%, you know, to find love.

I was single and I - you know, it's actually an amazing dream if you did find love. So I would have ran for the hills if I didn't start falling in love with him right away.

But the moment that I did, I think, had to have been off camera - you know, our first time off camera - probably just hanging out, him and I. and that's when.

Jason Oropallo: Were you a little nervous going into the rose ceremony or were you pretty secure that you were getting a rose?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: You know, you never know. And of course, every rose ceremony I was nervous. I mean there - I was nervous more so on some of them and not on others. But it's just - it's a rollercoaster.

And I think - you know, we don't know because I don't know - it's not like I was on dates with him and Chelsea. So I didn't know what they had or I didn't know what him and Amanda had. I just knew what we had.

And I - you know, what we had was amazing. And I just kept telling myself there is no way that he has what he has with these others girls. But they're thinking the same thing.

So, you know, everyone's just on edge and, you know, when it gets down to the final four that's when you start feeling like you're going to - you're nauseated walking into these rose ceremonies.

Actually - especially after him meeting my family. I mean, it was pretty intense. I can't believe we got through it.

Jason Oropallo: And, you know, Matt, how does your family feel about you possibly moving to the States here? I mean, are they okay with it or do they support you in that decision?

Matt Grant: Yeah. You know, one of my concerns right at the start was, you know, one of my - and people - I get misquoted on this. I never said I wanted to get married straightaway. So just for the record, you know, (unintelligible).

Although my point was that I wanted to get in a position where, you know, the reason why I chose to do this was because I was genuinely ready to settle down - settling down and getting married straightaway are two different things.

But, you know, this is what I wanted. It's incredible that I have met someone like Shayne and that, you know, I go on about it but I also do believe - I didn't just believe in fate, but as cheesy as it sounds, I do now (unintelligible) me.

A reality television program and it's hysterical. You know, obviously one of my concerns is my father coming to see - he had the stroke in late November 2006, how that kind of shook me up really and realized that life is precious.

And the rest of it. So to be then thousands of miles away from my father and my mother, and my friends and family - that is going to be tough to get - from month to month on end.

So it's important for me to just - if I am out here for awhile, to make sure that I'm constantly getting back to the UK. And, you know, (unintelligible) is something that I can certainly do.

Jason Oropallo: Well it's not bad to commute back and forth, right?

Matt Grant: No, it's not. But yeah - I mean, you can do it until you're a certain age. I don't know, you know, how much you've done it. I've done it quite a lot recently and I'm fine with it. But it does take out of you for a few days, for sure.

And, I don't know if I was like 40 if I'd be able to quite handle it like I do now.

Jason Oropallo: Okay. Well I guess you'll figure that out, you know, over time. Right? So...

Matt Grant: Oh definitely, yeah. You know, we don't want to come on now and just say stuff without really meaning it 100% for you guys. I mean, you know, we are talking about all the options and, you know, we're going through steps which is something that can't be rushed.

Jason Oropallo: How about any other nicknames besides monkey you guys have for each other?

Matt Grant: Well you know, you've heard of Bob, obviously, who is my alter ego - who is the television...

Jason Oropallo: Yeah.

Matt Grant: No, it's monkey. I don't have one apart from that and, you know, abusive words now and again.

Jason Oropallo: Well best of luck to both of you guys. Thank you.

Matt Grant: Thanks, Jason. Take care.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you so much. Have a good day.

Operator: Your next question comes from Laura Downhour from Metro Networks.

Laura Downhour: Hi guys.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Hi.

Matt Grant: Hi Laura.

Laura Downhour: Congratulations.

Matt Grant: Thank you very much, Laura.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Thank you so much.

Laura Downhour: I guess first of all, Shayne, you got the cutest reaction when Matt went down on one knee and obviously looked so shocked. What was going through your mind at that point?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: I think that was an out-of-body experience, to be honest with you. I didn't know what I was feeling.

Matt Grant: I thought she was going to fall over. Her legs would've went...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: I mean, I was literally - my knees were about to give out. You know, when you think, when you're a little girl, about being proposed to, it's - in your mind it's this magical moment.

And I think even if your, you know, soon-to-be fiancé asks you to marry him in the bathroom, it's just - for some reason in that moment, you're just - you know, you're in awe.

I mean, it's just a lifelong, you know, dream for somebody to get down on their knee and ask you to marry them. So I think in that moment I was just taking it in and trying to, you know, I didn't even know what was going on around me.

I didn't care. All I cared about was what was in front of me and it was beautiful. It was - I was so shocked, so shocked and just thrilled. It was amazing.

Laura Downhour: And Matt, how much work and rehearsing went into that proposal for you?

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Oh, I'd like to hear this one.

Matt Grant: Five years - about five years' work and my thesis - and obviously people on the (cable) use four.

No, you know, it was just - it was in the morning and I was thinking what I wanted to say to Shayne. And, you know, I put together a lot of stuff in my head that morning.

But it's the one - you know, it's the one sort of thing that - coming out of such a (unintelligible) show (unintelligible) the fact that everything had been - all the feelings and stuff were being compounded as one at a time.

So it seems like I've known Shane a lot longer than the time we've been filming and it actually meant that Shayne (unintelligible) - they were my genuine emotions, my genuine feelings.

It was exactly how I felt and it really was quite straightforward to me, sort of stay - open up and just let her know exactly how I felt. I did want to kind of - you know, the bit where I do the kind of "but..."

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Yeah, he said "but" and my head went down.

Matt Grant: I was kind of playing a little bit there. But...

Shayne Dahl Lamas: And then also, what was I going to say? Oh, I gave him that beautiful picture frame with I Love You on it and he just - he laughed. He doesn't tell me he loves me too because he can't.

You know, he was falling in love with two women and he couldn't tell one that he loved her, what not - anyway. So when he told me he loved me, I said say it one more time. You love me? Did I just hear that?

And I thought that that was sweet and I love, you know, will you marry me? I mean, he's just adorable. Matt, give me a kiss.

Matt Grant: (Unintelligible).

Laura Downhour: And not to interrupt and not to bring the tone down, but when Chelsea said that to you at the end about your choice and stuff, Matt - I mean, I imagine that you had been kind of offended or something because obviously you're in love with Shayne and planning to propose to her?

Matt Grant: Yeah, the fact is I was, you know, a lot more in love with Shayne than the other person. And it's funny isn't it? When someone has been - or said something negative about someone you love, care - you know, care about a lot -- whether it be a friend, a fiancé or girlfriend, whoever -- it's amazing how your body kind of - your mind sets in real quickly.

And I obviously just jumped defensive to Shayne because it just - that just came naturally. And, you know, I was - I'm very careful of my (unintelligible) because I think also in the heat of the moment it's easy to say something that you look back and regret on.

And I don't know if Chelsea regrets that or not. But, you know, that's all I'm going to say about it.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Let's just say he has points on the board for that one because he totally stuck up for his monkey.

Laura Downhour: Great. Well thank you guys. All the best.

Matt Grant: Thank you.

Shayne Dahl Lamas: Okay, thank you so much.

Laura Downhour: Bye.

Operator: There are no further questions at this time.

Cathy Rehl: If everybody has everything they need, there will be a transcript of this probably tomorrow.
