OH, LOOK. Matt is making fun of someone he supposedly cares about in a national media outlet. What a surpirse. Trivial Pursuit involves no luck or strategy. Just knowledge. He's basically calling his fiance a dumb blonde. Nice guy. Was he BORN with his foot in his mouth, or has the media attention simply gone to his head. Criminy.

Just because she's not good at Trivial Pursuit doesn't mean she isn't smart. Trivial Pursuit is about a lot of facts that most people don't know about, so what does that say? I know a lot of smart people who suck at Trivial Pursuit. I for one see the comment as cute, they have fun and laugh at each other and with each other.

I agree. Trivial Pursuit is a difficult game. My husband and I are both college grads with decades of life experience and we find the new edition, particularly, very difficult.

The point stands.

It is at best a neutral -- at worst unflattering -- remark to make on the occasion of introducing your fiance to the world in a major national media interview.

If there is a better time to single out positive qualities for exclamatory, adoring statements I can't think of it.

But good ol' Matt came up with "she sucks at Trivial Pursuit."

He should do better if he wants a career as a talk show host, is my point. I'm not concerned in the slightest with their relationship, which won't last.

I have to LOL at Matt's Trivial Pursuit comment. When I met my husband through friends 23 years ago, pretty much the very first thing we did was sit down and play Trivial Pursuit with another couple. I remember thinking -- Umm, he's not exactly great at this game, lol. Well here we are 23 years later & married. We both have jobs that require a Bachelor's degree but he earns MUCH more than I do. Even though I was much better at T.P., it has failed to land me that high-paying job, lol.

Anyway, I am curious to see how long this relationship between Matt & Shayne lasts. I wish them well..

It was teasing and I found it to be endearing! My husband does the same thing with me when it comes to athleticism. I cannot play volley ball or badmitton to save my life. I suck at Croquet too.

If you don't like Matt you don't but why twist his words and ascribe a negative meaning where none exists? You are missing his dry British wit!

Matt cracks me up. Laugh out loud funny. Pajamasam and I were crazy for him in those first interviews. I carry the same "laugh at others" gene, believe me, and nothing tickles my funny bone more.

But listen to him. Every single laugh is at the expense of another.

In short, he is auditioning to be a talk show host, not a husband.

I agree that it is surprising that a guy newly reunited with his true love had to get in that little jab. Teasing or not you'd think he'd have something nice to say about her, but not Matt. I hope for those who love this couple that things work out, but imo he's been acting VERY strange for a guy in love. He's been consistently acting more in keeping with a guy who thinks he's gotten a raw deal. jmho

I thought that comment was endearing as well. Also, not to get nitpicky, but there are numerous versions of Trivial Pursuit out there..Pop Culture Edition, 80's Edition, Sports Edition, etc. So without all the information it's kind of hard to chalk that comment up as Matt calling Shayne dumb IMO. I think the comment is harmless and from what we have seen of Shayne I bet she would have a great comeback
