I agree w/you RMB! . I think she is cute and sweet, but this show is about more than just one bachelorette, even if that bachelorette does end up the F1. There has been absolutely no suspense in the season and I think that might be one of the biggest reasons as to why people are tuning out...

I understand what you're saying about suspense, but when Fleiss makes it suspenseful people complain that they didn't see a love story--I think he is finally showing us the love story (IMO) and there's not enough suspense??? I don't get it. I hope they don't give the shayne show a break--she's the most entertaining!

I think you can show the love story and still have some suspense about whether it will work out. As some of us have been saying, with Amanda there seems to be plenty of opportunity to show more of their interractions (LOTS of kisses that we've seen in SCs and previews which weren't shown on the show), which would only serve to cast a little doubt on Shayne as F1, since she has clearly been featured as the frontrunner. Instead, it seems the editing has seriously downplayed the interraction between Matt and Amanda, yet this would've been a perfect way to build some suspense, which, if she goes at F3 seems like a wasted opportunity. I don't think showing the love story means that you don't show anyone else as being in contention, so I don't see that as a contradiction at all.

But all the other 14 bachelor/bachelorette shows Fleiss has edited w/the suspense in there. You can still show the love story, but show a little suspense as well. I feel that is the way that the Andy/Tessa story was told. We did see the love story, but there was just enough suspense to keep us on the edge of our seat. I think the seasons that I have enjoyed the most are the seasons where everyone is constantly debating who the F1 is. I remember how exciting Andy's season was -- the boards were hopping so much I could barely keep up. And, yes, Shayne is entertaining, but I do think the other girls are as well. Or at least they would be if they got a chance to show us. I think it is almost insulting to the other girls that they have barely gotten any screen time at all -- especially Noelle. I have read numerous posts lately that people are sad that they have not gotten a chance to see more of her... And that is coming from people that have the other girls as their favorite...

Ratings picked up with the end of group dating, but only 2/3 of a million viewers. That's not as much improvement as in previous seasons.

Competitively, CSI:Miami was down over two and a half million viewers from a year ago, and Medium has dipped nearly a million viewers from last week. All three networks programming the 10pm hour suffered losses. Samantha Who? lost 48% of DWTS viewers, and has sunk in ratings and share of the 18-49 demographic to just slightly better than The Bachelor. The Bachelor nearly tied it in the demo despite two and a half million fewer viewers.

Demographics are the show's bet bet now. A 3.0 rating would be fine, 2.7 is questionable, but not a disaster.

The show definately performs much better paired with DWTS rather than Samantha Who?.

NO ONE should miss the Leno monologue mention of The Bachelor last night. Really funny.

He runs a clip of Matt saying that he is going to be hanging out with 25 HOT American women blah blah blah the real clip).

Then they cut to footage panning across the women from the fundamentalist LDS sect in Texas in their long hair and pastel garb.

Watch it. It's funny. Link probably available later today or tomorrow.
