| Re: Byron and Mary - The New Thread But we were not there to know the actual condition of anyone. Byron was sober enough to drive and sober enough to realize an arguement was getting out of hand and wanted to remover himself and Mary. Mary did not seem to have the same realization for whatever reason. Police reports said alcohol was involved. Perhaps the alcohol was with the other couple. Mary and Byron have lived like a family for the last three years, they will have to figure out some way to deal with the aftermath - too bad the public is so interested. It is part of the Bachelor Curse.

| Re: Byron and Mary - The New Thread It's interesting that Mary was the one arrested for violence. I remember how Byron got during his season and thought man that is an angry drunk. I thought he could be an abusive partner.

| Re: Byron and Mary - The New Thread I've known men who hit women and women who hit men, and while violence in any sense is not o.k. IMO, there definately are extinuating circumstances. All we know is Byron's point of view---Mary very well could have justification. |

| Re: Byron and Mary - The New Thread There's no justification though, for hitting anyone...for ANY reason, in my opinion...let alone hitting them and splitting their lip open. |

| Re: Byron and Mary - The New Thread I agree, but what's not clear is whether this was one-sided or a shoving match or what. I don't think I have enough information to condemn anyone, although I'd bet my next paycheck that either or both of them could benefit from alcohol counseling. |

| Re: Byron and Mary - The New Thread Totally agree, only time hitting would be justified is in a self defense in a situation of being accosted. Two people in a relationship should never be hitting each other, walk away or sit down and talk, be adult. |

| Re: Byron and Mary - The New Thread I was surprised to hear about this ruccus and feel really sorry for Mary! She was worried about her biological clock and wanted children and now she has wasted several more years apparantly in a bad relationship while her clock was ticking. I doubt we will ever see these two get married and am sad for both of them. |
