The way I understood it ..the place in New York ( where he took Kimberly) was a temp place ( provided by ABC) for the show near the one the girls stayed at.

The place in Montauk is a family vacation home and is NOt owned by Charlie but by his parents although they all use it.

Charlie's home is the one above Jerry's in LA

I heard that both the place in NYC and the Moutauk house are his parents homes. Check the NYC townhouse decor, definately NOT a bachelor pad.

Jerry lives in the upstairs condo, Charlie lives downstairs.
