    CHARLIE O'CONNELL - The Bachelor

QUINTESSENTIAL BACHELOR CHARLIE O'CONNELL TAKES ON
MANHATTAN AND 25 WOMEN AS "THE BACHELOR," PREMIERING
MONDAY, MARCH 28 ON THE ABC TELEVISION NETWORK

ABC's hit romantic reality series, "The Bachelor," will kick off a new season with Charlie O'Connell in his hometown of New York, New York. The seventh edition of "The Bachelor" will premiere with a two-hour special MONDAY, MARCH 28 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Charlie O'Connell is a financially secure 29-year-old jack of all trades who enjoys a fantastic lifestyle and a love for life that is contagious. Charlie, a self-described fun loving "good guy," has long cherished his carefree bachelor lifestyle. However, amongst 25 beautiful bachelorettes, is there one girl who can stop Charlie in his tracks and inspire him to settle down?

While he grew up in New York City, Charlie currently splits his time between both coasts. For the last eight years Los Angeles has been his main residence, where he lives with his older brother, actor Jerry O'Connell. He also spends much of his time at his family's home in Montauk, Long Island with his parents, whose marriage of over 30 years serves as the model relationship Charlie so desires.

This season will be unlike any other on "The Bachelor," as we strip down some of the formalities and offer viewers a less structured version of the program. On the first day there will be no limos, no gowns and no traditional rose ceremony. This time there are no rules and anything can happen, as we give Charlie the opportunity of a lifetime to discover if love is out there waiting for him.

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "The Bachelor" is produced by Next Entertainment in association with Telepictures Productions. Mike Fleiss ("High School Reunion") is the executive producer. Lisa Levenson and Scott Jeffress are co-executive producers.

They follow up "America's Sweetheart" with "Chuckie Cheese" and they expect us to watch? We already know he's only in it for the media exposure so why bother?

I love how they try to entice everyone back with "This season will be unlike any other" and that they're going to "offer viewers a less structured version of the program."

Uh huh. We already had the "First Impression Rose," "White Rose," and Lame-o Jesse Plamer breaking up runner-up girl in front of his chosen girl (not to mention the rest of his season of stalkers and plane tickets.)

I don't think ANYTHING will be able to save this show -- especially with "Good Time Charlie" running it. Blech. (We've seen enough "Good Time" Bachelors.) :phhht

    ... Poor Chris.

maybe their doing no traditional roses because Charlie is not looking for a wife. He may be worse than Jen.

Maybe they do the elimination "Jen style"

Have the girls call Charlie and leave a message to call them back if they can stay.

The phone calls he doesn't return are gone.

Those who are given condoms (instead of the traditional rose) get to stay another week...to see who's best in the sack. What else could it be about?

Translation: This season will be unlike any Bachelor season, because we are just lumping in this soft porn romp with our franchise, for name recognition's sake. On the first day there will be no gowns as every bimbo is strongly encouraged to wear as little as possible. This time there are no rules and anything can happen since we are allowing Charlie and the girls to follow the script faithfully and stick to the prescribed general raunchiness. We will allow Charlie to discover whether there is a Barbie doll out there who will agree to be dumped as soon as she is no longer needed, after the show airs.
