I love your ability to get to the heart of the matter!

Interesting point charlie9. One of the things that was so unique about Mer and Ian IMO was that they had an intellectual connection as well as a physical/chemical one. The way they talked with each other was fun, witty and sexy, and certainly that is missing in this series.

That's not to say Jessica and Jesse are dumb (note omission of Tara's name), they just don't seem to have any intellectual connection or banter. I'm sure many couples don't and are very happy in spite of this. For me, it's one of the best parts of marriage, and one of the sexiest things to watch on TV.

[QUOTE=charlie9]I totally agree ... it's just weird. It looked like he weeded out the more interesting girls in the beginning. QUOTE]

OR...the more interesting girls left of their own accord after they learned more about Mr. Palmer

It would be nice if, after 'After the Final Rose' they showed 'deleted scenes' like they do in DVDs. So we could see for ourselves if there was chemistry we missed out on.

Maybe it's so strong, they edited it all out so we wouldn't know who the winner was. Okay. . . maybe I'm dreaming. . .but it COULD happen

That date looked boring too me too, wonder who is making up their dates now........cue card man.......

Jesse has no substance. He's been a star all his life, of course the only girls he's going to have "chemisty" with are the pagent girls, the homecoming queens, the models. Birds of a feather...

If we had had a more intelligent, deeper thinker of a Bachelor, maybe we would have seen more of the interesting girls, like Karen. What do you expect, casting a quarterback in the lead role? You're going to get the most banal, bland, and beautiful Bachelorettes to mirror his blase.

I'm sure Jesse is a deep romantic soul, that's got a cloes family, good buddies, etc. but there's not much underneath the "hunk", as far as we've seen. Show us some depth. I'm tired of the flash and trash.

ABC completly ruins thistime around by putting Trish up front and manipyulate the situation srrounding her. Unless ABC want it that way, how possibly could she re-emerge like that during one-on-one date?

ABC might think any notoriety is good for reality TV show. If so, they are putting themselves in doomed position.

No matter how many trick they use, when people stop seeing real love or emotion from guy and girls, people will tune out.

I can think of one more Bachlorette and sayonara for the whole series. I am not sure nachlorette-to-be can save this show herslef alone.

    Doomed.
ITA - I think ABC has to stop editing this show like a game show where we are waiting with bated breath to see who wins. I have been watching bits of my Meredith/Ian tapes almost daily and I know how it ended - I think it will be a long time before I'll totally tire of them. Romance like that for us women is like what sex and porn is to men - we want it every day!

Exactly! Its the chemistry between Meredith and Ian that is so exciting and interesting. I can manage 30 seconds of Jesse and his girls before I turn off the TV--there is no chemistry whatsoever. I didn't even see any between him and Trish.

The common denominator in all this lack of sexual chemistry is Jesse. Maybe he was lying about waking up with strangers in his bed.

When I first saw his picture, I thought he was appealing but now see him as a big, dull blockhead (a Matt clone?). There's no spark, no playfulness, no intrigue. Nothing. And I imagine my reaction is pretty typical of how women see him.

On second thought, maybe he does manage to get women into bed on the first date based on the superficial but his relationships never mature beyond one-night-stands.

I have heard rumors that Chris Harrison absolutely detests Jesse. He dissed him good on some radio interview--referring to Jesse by less-than-savory names. Chris loved Meredith and she and Ian generated the highest level of chemistry the show has ever seen. Maybe the producers should actually let Chris Harrison make some decisions.

When you say chemistry between Jesse and Trish don't you mean lust?

To me, chemistry is something that keeps a couple together. Lust is something that makes you get sick of "waking up with a stranger."

Correction - Chris was not particularly complimentary of Meredith.
