I think you are right but I don't think anyone knows anything yet. Someone posted that they are getting offers to be on the show and someone else posted that they saw a preview for the New Bachelor and he looks yuck - so who knows!!!! Everyone is in a state of confusion right now, I believe!!!!

To tell you the truth, I thought the yucky bachelor was the new FLOM male lead...not the ABC Bachelor.

I believe you are correct psucashcow, it is the male lead from FLOM!
I wouldn't mind seeing another round of the bachelorette, the women actually know how to pick their men. The guys (most of them) just think with that thing in their pants. As for Matthew becoming the next bachelor, I'd be right there drooling all over my tv set. Butterflygirl: be careful, the girls in the hammock can be relentless (re: Matthew) They LOVE their Ian, BIG TIME!!!!!

I would like to see Mathew as the next bachelor or someone new and different. I want to see someone who is genuine and down to earth. I think we are more likely to get that with a bachelorette rather than a bachelor and so I would rather see another bachelorette.

My personal theory about why the Bachelorette seems to work and the Bachelor doesn't comes down to differences about men and women and how they view relationships.
You put the Bachelor on and suddenly he is the focus of 25 beautiful women. His ego soars and grows. Every time he goes on a date or has a rose ceremony, he hears about how wonderful he is and how much these women want to be with him -- Ego is fed and grows bigger. He finally gets to the end of the show and makes his choice. He feels like a king and has an ego to match. Then, he is separated from "his love" and goes on tour for two months. Lo and Behold, more women go gaga over him and tell him how wonderful he is and how much they want to be with him. His king size ego grows and grows and he starts wondering if he "settled" for less than an "amazing man" like himself deserves. Thus the relationship begins to die before the show even ends.
The Bachelorette goes on and is flattered and amazed that there are actually 25 single , handsome men who want to date/marry her (any female who has spent any time trying to date realizes that the pickings are slim -- especially of men who want to marry). She goes on wonderful dates and realizes that many of them are actually serious about wanting marriage. She falls in love and makes her choice. She is then separated from "her love" and she really wants to talk to/about him, rather than all these people who want to talk with her about all the guys that she dumped. The show ends and she is just so glad to finally be with the man she chose. Relationship is at least on a shallow footing

Who Me? Thanks for the warning about the "Ian Girls" - I already got an earful today but they were removed for obvious reasons - I am sure you can figure that one out. I liked Ian - but Matthew was my man the whole season. I am definitely happy for Mer and Ian, I just felt bad that Matthew was told a lie and then really did not give him a valid excuse for doing so. I guess she doesn't have to but he needed it to help move on because he really had "fallen" for her. I wish somehow Matthew all the happiness in the world. He is a Good Guy and you don't see many of those anymore!!!! Hope there will be one of him around when my 3 year old daughter is about 25!!!!! Thanks for the advice!!!!

Butterflygirl! Are you causing trouble again??? j/k lol

I completely agree with you about Matthew. My heart just broke for him. He obviously adored Merdey and you could tell he was just devastated. He will definetely find someone and hopefully be very happy.

I still count myself as one of the few and proud Matt-fan Forters! We may be outnumbered but we provided good target practice for the Hammock Club. I ultimately came to believe that Ian was a better fit for Meredith, but Matt will be a great match for someone who prefers the white-picket fence type of life! If we want a marriage-minded Bachelor, I think Matt would be a great choice- and don't tell me that he was not romantic and sexy!! Remember the shaving scene??????!!!

Mandy & Matt - they are both wanting to settled down, get married, lead a white-picket fence type of life, they both live in Texas....Houston and Austin are not that far apart, and the matching names have a ring to them

I liked Lanny too...how can I forget him? He was adorable.
