One thing I've learned about most men, they are not into marathon drama/emotional discussions. They want to have the issue resolved as fast as possible ... sometimes making them seemingly callous of women's feelings.

They aren't callous, they can't handle women crying or being dramatic. Their preference is for a short discussion and quick resolve ... or better yet, they are hoping that the woman goes through the emotional battle outside their presence and then tell them after that they resolved the issue.
