Yeah, he never gave a real reason as to what went wrong. He said the chemistry changed to which Melissa responded, "No, you changed".

In the emails he didn't deny not talking to Molly in those emails..that says it all.

He's just a huge Bag of Smashed A$$.

I think Melissa wanted to work it out, honestly. I'm not really sure if they were broken up before the show. I don't really believe they called it quits before the ATFR. I don't know. I want to hear an interview with Melissa. The sooner the better.

There was a post on another thread here in FORT (forgive me I can't remember which) that said the someone backstage told her what was going to go down right before she walked out. That is why she looked so p*ssed.

Mine. My phrase was someone dropped a dime..which is used in criminal law to identify an informant. Didn't tell her exeactly what...just to be prepared for something she wouldn't be happy with (not sure of exact words, but enough for her to know it was not good).

And by the way, reason ring off? She had been told that for the original version of the ATFR (not this emergency moved up one) that they wanted Jason to put the ring back on her finger as part of a reaffirmation of ...blah, blah, blah.

Clearly it only has to air if one party in the transaction is so hot to get back with a different woman that he *insists* on breaking up before the first contract period is over. .... If Jason had been the type of person (a decent person, that is) who would put someone else's feelings ahead of his own immediate desires, he would have quietly said to Melissa behind the scenes that, though he had fallen out of love with her, he didn't want to expose her -- or his son -- to a televised dumping that'll be in viral video for years, so he hoped they could just go on having a pseudo relationship for a few months until they were out of contract terms.

Obviously, he wasn't that unselfish. He was scared that if he let Molly go for a few months, she would have found another guy. So he says to TPTB -- gotta break up with Melissa. And once that's said, *then* it has to air.

He put the squirmy feeling in his pants ahead of the feelings of someone else he had claimed to want to love and protect (whether or not he actually ever meant that, he did say it to Melissa). And, in my opinion, he put the squirmy feeling ahead of his kid, as well, who will find out about all of this in years to come and have to deal with it in some way.

Jason's too old to behave that immaturely, seems to me.

How long do you think it will be before Molly's parents say that they don't approve of Jason???

I mean, compared to her other boyfriend who Molly said they didn't like... how much worse could HE have been than what Jason is NOW???!!!!

Well said fiveboys! You're absolutely right. Clearly Mel knew it was over before the ATFR was shot. Everyone is dumping on Jason for the public breakup, but she had just as much opportunity...or not, for that matter...to decline to appear. Every season there is a break-up. The difference this year is that Jason wanted to try again with one of the other girls. I have no doubt had Jason chosen Molly first, we would have been shown an edit that made Molly look close to perfection. And we would be sympathizing with her heart-break and wondering how Jason could have dumped her for that man-stealing hussy Melissa. I don't think this was set up. I'm sure Fliess and Co. wish they had a fairy tale ending (finally!), but hey, since that doesn't work, let's go for drama and scandal. They likely do have a clause in their contract that said this crap had to air. That's the only reason Mel would have shown up I'm sure. Jason messed up sure, but his fault lies in poor judgement and picking the partner that wasn't right for him. I'm pretty sure we've all been guilty of that one. Otherwise, blame the structure of the show, the contracts, and the viewing audience that tunes in every season to watch yet another trainwreck....we're the ones who make it possible for The Bach to keep coming back.

ITA so much! You could certainly tell if your fiance wasn't "into" you any more, couldn't you? Maybe not, I haven't seen the movie yet! You make so much sense, and I will watch the next train wreck because as I've said in other posts, I'm hooked on Jillian. Then I'll be hooked on one of her finalists after that. And it keeps going and going and going. . . If it was a Bachelor or B'rette I didn't know, I wouldn't watch the next one.

I totally agree that Mel knew what was going to happen. When Jason was on Jimmy Kimmel, he told Jimmy that she basically knew what was going to happen, because they were not together at that point. He said he just wasn't sure if she would be wearing the ring or not.

I have been watching since S1 & this is the end of me. The producers love this stuff & since they ran out of 'schocking twists' & 'dramatic rose ceremonies', they had to come up with something over the top.

My prediction for the next round, since I will be watching something else: Jason shows up show before TFR ceremony to confess his love for Jillian since his relationship with Molly only lasted 7 weeks, a new record for him.

At first I thought "poor Melissa" but then after watching the atfr2 I thought "lucky Melissa"
