That would be Kate Brockhouse and yes, she is from Andy's show. She had lots of great information.

My thoughts on the private show:
I think Jason picked Mel, she was and still is the ONE and the private show is about her weird, unsupportive parents repairing their relationship with their daughter and soon to be son in law and mending their public reputation that may get further trashed at the FRC. I am sure they are not happy she dragged them into the public eye. They have a pretty bad rep right now for not ever going to even one of her DCC games in 2 years, never meeting her friends or supporting her by meeting Jason. They appear to be pretty self-centered parents in my book. She calls herself the blacksheep, has low self esteem and they seem awfully rigid. I was amazed she said her father was adventurous and her mother was loving. REALLY, I think not. They could have gone to a restaurant to meet him to avoid camera's at their house and the public would not have attacked them on the street. They must have allusions of grandeur about papparazzi or something.

I remember Naomi said Mel was devastated when she called her parents from Seattle and they refused to meet Jason the next week and she had still not talked to them when she was in NZ on last Monday's show so there is some hurt feelings there.

I originally thought Jason may have got the guts to call her dad prior to the FRC and may have been denied their blessing because they do not know him. He told Mel at the FRC, she did not care so he proposed. The private show is for repairing the rift with her phobic unsupportive parents.

BUT maybe after talking with De he decided to choose Mel regardless of the parents and proposes to Mel at FRC and she tells him she loves him and wants marry him but SHE has spoken to her parents from NZ and they do not support her accepting a proposal. And she asks does he still want to marry her with that between them since parents are so important to him? Everyone thinks Mel would jump at his proposal and maybe they were shocked at her telling him she wants him to be sure. He says she is perfect for him so they will just have to win them over together. The private show is still about repairing her parental relationship.

I remember thinking some version of this out loud, too, or maybe posting it... the agony on the balcony is b/c after the proposal, Mel calls her parents and they still object vehemently.

This is Tuesday. One week and counting, then back to our lives!

Hmm..Now, think about it..How would a grown man react if his fiancees/girlfriend's parents weren't thrilled or ready for an engagement? I doubt he would look like Jason did on the balcony. He looked like "someone died" when he was thrashing about there.

Someone had mentioned that the contestants aren't supposed to even contact their parents as to the results of the
Last Rose Ceremony.

You're so right Blondie. Most recent case in point---Brad's season. Bringing DeAnna's father in to stress Fleiss's edit of this mean, horrible heartbreaker Brad Womack.

I haven't followed this season closely, just some scenes now and then, however I did watch the WTA. The most interesting thing is that CH did NOT ask Jason if he found his true love, future wife, was in love, etc.. . .he asked if Jason was HAPPY. Sorry, but in my book that's a dead giveaway that there is no love story. I watch way too many seasons and I don't remember a season when the bachelor said he was "happy" instead of in love where a happy couple emerged. Lorenzo is the particular one that comes to mind.
