I have read some posts on here concerning TPTB not wanting to make their lead look badly. I think that it is time to remember that TPTB could really care less how we (the viewing public) think about their lead (in this case Jason). The reason that I say this is we have had numerous seasons now to back this claim up as fact. Let's take a look at some of those past seasons and how the lead was thrown to the wolves or under the bus, depending on which cliche you want to use.

Andy Baldwin ~ Told BOTH women (F2) that he loved them on tv. This could have easily been edited out however it added to that drama so TPTB left it in. During the FRC Andy even had the gall to wear the watch Bevin gave him and SHOWED her he was wearing it before he dumped her. Again, if TPTB wanted Andy to look like a great guy this would have been left out.

Brad Womack ~ During the FRC TPTB made it look as if Brad left Deanna to stand by herself after he had started talking to her because he "was having second thoughts". We have heard from a very reliable source that this was not the case. That Brad walked away as soon as Deanna walked up to him. TPTB decided to make this change during the edit because it added more drama thus making Brad look like a cad.

Matt (whatever his last name is) ~ We heard plenty from Matt where he was talking negatively about Shayne. It should have been and could have been edited out. TPTB left it in for the sake of drama. During the FRC when he walked Chelsea out she confronted him about the way he talked to her concerning Shayne. Again, should have and could have been edited out but was left in for the sake of drama. TPTB proved that drama won out over making the lead look like a true gentleman.

Deanna Pappas ~ She had so many meltdowns it was getting to be funny. Will she break down this time to and cry "this is sooooo hard on me"? Added in for drama, could have been left out, made her look like a witch with a capital B. Graham wanted out, she wanted Graham, NO ONE really thought after Graham left that she would pick anyone because he was shown as THE ONE. She lets Jason get down on one knee. No we didn't see the whole proposal but we were still left with a bad taste in our mouths because of it. Again, could have and should have been left out IF they wanted the lead to look good.

My point in all of this should be pretty obvious by now. TPTB do NOT care if the lead comes out smelling like a rose. They simply care about the drama and the ratings. They can and will throw Jason under the bus if they think that it will help the show. In my opinion it had already started. They could have and should have edited the hot tub scene with Jillian to not be so graphic seeing how they knew that she was the next to go. However, sex sells, drama sells and Jason is just a cash cow for them!

I agree the producers don't care about jason, he is a means to an end. Just the little preview of the WTA, Natalie said something very negative....and Jillian is show confronting him saying she loved him, and Jason has he deer in the heads lights look. I don't think they will protect him in the editing at all....

Sorry he is quite clear on his blog and in the videos that Jason was seeing Molly and Mel at the same time and that ABC was flying both girls to Seattle on different weekends.

That was a claim that did a lot of damage because jason was a two timer.

Did the person on Jokers ask if RS stood by those claims?

i don't think you understand what i'm saying. during RS chat on jokers he said the same thing he told nonobadfish about the atfr1 and that's when jason "started" seeing molly. someone specifically pointed this out and thought the same thing you did, that he was changing his story. he said that he was only saying it this way because this is the way it will be perceived by the audience. those who don't know about RS(we're a small portion of the real audience here people)will think that the atr1 is when jason and molly start dating. he sticks by his claims that jason has been seeing molly all along but not everyone knows or will know about that if they don't know about RS.

RS is not the only person who had this information leaked to them. there are several other people who were told more or less the same story BEFORE RS even found out. there were rumors at the beginning of january that all was not well between jason and melissa. it was from there that other bits and pieces started to leak out.

I believe that what RS revealed to be more truthful, since there are posters here that can do confirm what he's said.

I'm not disagreeing with you, ZG, but RS isn't the only one who has gotten this information that he has. People from this board have had it verified as well. The newspaper article in the Grand Rapids, MI paper stated that it matched what their sources are saying. I wouldn't be so quick to think about what RS has to say if it hadn't been verified from other sources too.

And I would love to hear the answer to your question about whether Potsticker believes Jason is with Melissa now!

I think what RS said has been verified by other sources...but I think it's just as plausible that the sources verifying the information to RS, the media, and the posters here are ALL the same sources. We could have a handful of sources that are feeding this information to people who'd be interested - everyone who follows the show online knows FORT loves sleuthing the Bachelor and who the "regulars" and trusted folks are here; RS had a great forum for passing along information of this sort, and local media has likely been GIVEN their sources from the people who passed along the info (ie when they talked to RS he gave his sources, then the local media can say they sourced it, but it was all the same sources)

I don't doubt people are hearing the same thing RS is - I just suspect it's being heard from a circle of the same folks spread out very strategically. Whether those folks are accurate and doing it intentional, inaccurate and doing it intentionally, inaccurate and doing it unintentionally I don't know yet.

Personally I think the latter part of what you said (about ABC/Disney/MF thrilled about the ratings - now and to come) b/c of this is exactly why the first part of what you said is not happening.

Why encourage the media to ignore or debunk things? Then it looks like a dull "expected" ending. The intrigue is FAR greater if there's the possibility of scandal or something unexpected. Whether he intended to or not, RS is giving ABC WAY more publicity for this ending than it'd have ever gotten otherwise, even if we heard there was a wedding on the finale.

Scandal? Possible wrongdoing? Scripting? Post-decision change? THAT gets the attention of the media - and the public - far more than the "good news" of a happy ending.

So regardless of what the truth of the ending of the show is - which at this point very, very few people know - I can't imagine there's an iota desire in the minds of ABC/Disney/MF that this needs to be addressed, even if it is all wrong - b/c doing so will only cut down on the incessant conversation/speculation/publicity this is getting now, and therefore, also cut down on the ratings for the next few weeks.

Total agreement. They couldn't buy this type of publicity. This, for a television show, is p.r. gold.

I believe the story that was fed to RS was a direct attempt at throwing Jay under the bus.....

Please do not confuse my statement with me thinking that Jason is clear of any wrongdoing either though. In all of the seasons that I had posted about I feel that the people that were thrown under the bus were in some way deserving of it, with the exception of Brad. Brad was the only one that stood up for himself and said NO. Andy should have never said what he did. Matt was possibly being a smarta** as he was known to be but it still came across as wrong. Deanna was using the show for a segway into another career (couldn't stand her at all anyway). Jason has done plenty of things that they can use to show him as a jerk. As Jason has said in an interview, they can't use something against you if you don't say it. Jason has made his own bed and now he has to deal with it. No one forced words out of his mouth. No one forced him to make out with numerous women. Jason has just handed TPTB what they needed on a silver platter. He knew what he signed up for and now if we (the viewing public) think less of him he has only himself to blame.
