I responded earlier that we had been addressing Melissa's insecurities and the possible role they played in her storyline. I was thinking that the conflict might be whether Jason could cause her to overcome her insecurities enough to love again and move to Seattle.

However, I like this conflict which still deals with Melissa's insecurities while including and pitting her against the confident Molly for the love of the Bachelor.

Classic fairytale romance of bad vs. good done up in 21rst century style - confident temptress/seductress vs. insecure/princess beauty.

On another note, this harkens back to Andrew's season when we had the vixen Kirsten confident in herself that she didn't need anybody but Andrew vs almost plain, angelic Jen who at one point questioned Andrew as to whether he could see someone like her from Ohio fitting in with his wealthy family.

My reason for saying that is a lot of people carry on and say that there is so much of Jason and Melissa on the cutting room floor......... my point is the same can be said of Jason and Jillian. A lot of people keep forgetting that at this stage there are still 9 people there. Jillian is one of them as is Melissa. So to carry on and only talk of Melissa as her stuff is on the cutting room floor doesn't mean much at this point. The same can be said of any of the women.

Yes BLOOMERS - there has to be that conflict between the F2 - to keep the mystique in place to that point - and that seems to fall into place starting tonite - and will definitely build from there.

What your mom was saying, actually that makes perfect sense........ Molly is getting the friend edit so far as she is the only one that keeps asking him if he is alright and how the process is going for him. Melissa is definately like the Bevin edit. Right into Jason from the start, head on full boar....... Jillian is the Tessa edit, very natural and normal with a little hesitation as what normal relationships should be. When you get into a relationship, don't you want to make it work on a friends level when you can talk and get along together. I think soon you will find the romance between the two pick up intensely.

If it weren't for the caps in the previews which logistically (and therefore effectively) eliminate her from the competition, I'd worry more about Jillian than Molly. She's getting a stellar edit. She's sweet, funny, charming, she has a great head on her shoulders. She's smart about relationships and reading people.

But there's no "but" to her storyline. I bet that there won't be until the HTDs/FDs. Not because there's anything in particular wrong with her or those dates, that's just the way they handle the F3. They feel they have to give you a reason and the reason usually surfaces in those dates before the elimination of F3.

As for what's on the cutting room floor? There are definitely aspects of each woman that we'll never see. We see a fraction of what is filmed for every woman. I'm sure Jillian has discussed children and family with Jason. But, if it doesn't move the story along, or it isn't part of the story the editors want to tell, it isn't included. There's a reason they haven't addressed it, I'm just not sure what that reason is.

It reminds me a bit of Lorenzo's season. He asked everyone if they'd be willing to move to NY. I think he even asked the camera guy. It sticks in my brain that they deliberately never showed him talking to Sadie about that, because Sadie's story was sweet, pretty, vivacious, charming virgin that everyone fell in love with, only to have her crying at the FRC. The moving to NY wasn't part of the story, so they left it out, entirely.

Mind you, Lorenzo's season is also the only other one with "ring on hand in season preview" proof of F1. Intellectually, I "knew" it was Jen's hand, but I liked Sadie (F2) 1000x more, so I found every excuse or explanation imaginable to make her F1. I feel your frustration, coastal. As much as it may feel we're not acknowledging your points, I think we ALL have been there and understand where you're coming from.

I agree with most except the Molly friend edit... I don't see that.
