Re: What's up with that edit??!! Besides the overall storyline edit for the whole season, each individual "character" will have their own story arc as well. Survivor slueths are the best at determining a contestants story arc and when it has risen and fallen--hence they will be voted off soon. Each lady has a story arc and depending on when they are being sent home their story will rise before another ladies arc may even begin. While we want to see the romance developing between Jason and Melissa, her arc doesn't need to fully rise yet. Some characters arc will never fully develop like Kari and others will peak early, like Erica, showing us that she is gone early as well. Jillians story arc is definitely higher than Mels or Molly's at this point, but potentially she is gone before either of them too. F2 have a longer story to tell so TPTB hold off telling it early on. Unfortunately it is the story we want to hear most!

Re: What's up with that edit??!! I just caught up with a few days' worth of postings so I have a few different thoughts on how these girls (and Jason) are being edited... 1) Moaning Molly - shades of "Joe Millionaire" and the slurping in the bushes with his F2. TPTB definitely want us to think they did the dirty, but I agree that she was probably overdressed to sleep in a tent and borrowed some of Jason's clothes. As we know from the preview for next week, the date is at the "Bachelor pad" so that would make sense.2) Stalker Shannon - As a fellow Missourian, I hope Shannon finds some really nice guy to dote on and fawn over in real life. She is WAY too caught up in the "Jason from TV" thing and that comes off as scary, but I think in real life she is probably a really sweet and funny person based on how upset she is by the drama and the impersonation outtakes. (Sorry for the RO sentence, Bloomers!)3) Melissa the "It Girl" - I will proudly own my bias here and state that I have a prejudice towards Melissa as I thought she was great on "Making the Team." IMHO she is being hidden far too thoroughly. Those in the know can clearly see the entangled legs and other signs of the talks (and kisses) that are on the cutting room floor, but I think the average viewer ain't getting much to work with. But as has been stated, there is plenty of time for her story to rise.4) Jillian the Fun Friend - I love Jillian, and if Melissa were not in the picture, she would be my favorite, far and away. Her Canadian accent alone is absolutely precious. But she is totally getting the friend edit. A bit of foreshadowing that I caught and haven't seen mentioned is Jillian's comment on her 1 on 1 date that "No matter what else happens, I know I was meant to be here right now." That screams to me that she is not the one for the long term.5) St. Jason - I personally still love the guy, but I can see that the prediction from DeAnna's boards is coming true: his halo will tarnish as soon as he becomes the Bachelor. So he's kissing most of them...big deal! I think that is a necessary test of connection , and the fact that he did not kiss Natalie is really telling to me. He was not feeling it so he didn't kiss her. And I assumed that the producers told him he had to pick up the rose, but that may be me justifying on his behalf. And he was a little Jr. High in his efforts to find out who the Mean Girls were, but I understand his need to do so for Ty's sake as well as his own. And as far as saying he was "in love" with 2 women, that is all semantics and is every season. No one can know what is meant when someone else says "love" "in love" "falling in love" "care deeply for" etc. The only test of what real love is... is time, something Jason and his F1 have still not had. I hope his F1 understands that there were certainly feelings for other women, but in the act of choosing her, he makes the biggest statement he can. 6) I would love Love LOVE a "What Was Left on the Cutting Room Floor" Episode. That would rock! ![]() I have other thoughts, but this is enough to be getting on with...

Re: What's up with that edit??!! I agree with you rosegardener about Melissa being too hidden. If it truly is a love story I would LOVE to see it! hehe I was watching old videos on youtube of Deanna and Graham and wow they had so many of those moments where you just knew she was falling hard for him like no one else. I wish we would see more of those with MELJAY!!

Re: What's up with that edit??!! That comment made me think about what Dee said when she gave Jason the paper with the information about Ty's star. There seems to be several references to Jason's season that are being thrown out there (thank goodness that we are not getting a repeat of the Deeanna/Brad stuff drom last season with having to see Jason's proposal over and over again) and a lot of it seems to be foreshadowing to me.

Minney: I don't watch Survivor, but good job I wanted to point out that the really odd situation to me this season is the basically very slow start to the F2 Molly storyline. Usually, we see much more development of the F2 by this time. We have only to think back to Jason, Chelsea, Jenni, Bevin, and Sadie to realise this one. It is unusual to hide the F2 as that is who the producers want the viewers to believe is going to win. We know from all of the evidence that she doesn't win, but it appears to me that this time the F3 Jillian has been chosen to receive the focus with the intent to throw the scent off the F1 for a shocking ending. ETA I was typing and didn't see Miss Milano's statement about Jason and DeAnna!

Like when Jason was on his 1on1 date. All the guys were talking about him telling Deanna about Ty and how she would accept it. Everyone was saying that she would be accepting and it wouldn't change anything. Except Jesse. He said that if Jason was in the F2, and Deanna had equal feelings for both of them, that she would choose the other guy. | |

We got better edits from the girls during the 45 minute episodes during Brad's season.
