) what anybody thinks about them or their actions.I think Jason is most at ease when he feels others are pleased or satisfied with him. To this end, I think he tried to please the producers as much as possible. We know from past bachelors that they are pushed to "kiss more". I don't think he thought through to the possible ramifications of kissing so many of the women, and especially at one session. Yes, the producers pushed it, and yes he needed to know whether that physical connection was there, but what did kissing that many women connote to a largely female audience? It was the same thing with the rose and Natalie. I think that basically Jason is a thoughtful guy. Given more time, I think he would have realized that picking up the rose like he was going to offer it to her and then saying no made him appear heartless. Also, I blame the editing to a certain extent on that date. Although they were trying to build up a shallow, materialistic edit for Natalie, at the same time they showed Jason enthralled with her almost until the very end which was unrealistic. I think back on the date with Kristen and Travis when he didn't offer her the rose. The edit began immediately showing us Travis' lack of attraction with Kristen. It wasn't as if we thought he was blown away by her only to be disabused of the idea when she pulled the orange peel teeth trick over dinner. If we hadn't heard Jason talked about how wonderful, beautiful, etc., Natalie was for 85% of the date, then it wouldn't have appeared so incongruent when he decided it just wasn't there for him.

Re: What's up with that edit??!! I didn't think he seemed particularly interested in Natalie. He may have found her beautiful, but I never sensed a connection. He seemed more and more unenthusiastic as the date went on. Picking up the rose was a bad move, of course. I have no idea why he did that. But I got the sense that his patience was wearing thin with her by the end. Bloomers, it's interesting that they are showing Melissa's insecurity. Perhaps that is meant to take the edge off of her "It Girl" persona? It would be easy for viewers (especially female ones) to resist her as F1 because she is a gorgeous, perky cheerleader. Showing her in this light is probably a good move. And the breast reduction thing makes her seem more vulnerable!

Re: What's up with that edit??!! Hi NV! he did probably mean it was a great date, but pretty easy to misinterpret from her side, I think he was right to let her go but regardless it wasn't handled well. As far as the kissing I have to give it to Brad he handled that very well

Re: What's up with that edit??!! I believe last night's edit was not very kind toward Jason, and I hope the edit monkeys rethink their purpose. The producer's hands were all over the "drama" at the RC and with Lauren tattling and Jason encouraging the women to dish. I could smell that a mile away. I do think that Jason is scared that he might make a huge mistake and keep someone who is not there for the right reasons. The producers, I believe, played upon his fears and used that to make "good TV". ![]() Jason did touch upon his date with Natalie in his weekly blog, he said that he picked up the rose because he really wanted to be able to give it to her but in the end knew he couldn't, so he put it down again. I do think he realizes that picking it up in the first place was the wrong move. The edit seems to be all over the place this year, and if they hide Melissa too much the regular viewer is not going to understand where that connection was made.

| Re: What's up with that edit??!! Most men don't read women well; however most men aren't in the position where the stakes are as high as Jason felt they were for him at that moment.

Re: What's up with that edit??!! Jason's date with Natalie was basically the exact same set up for Richard and D. Richard is most women's great guy, cute, sweet and smart. So D took him on the over the top fantasy date and then dumped him in the horse carriage. Natalie is hot blonde, most guys dream date, she got the over the top date and then got dumped. I have to say D handled it a little better, but then went on the to the FRC blunder. Everyone who goes on this show eventually gets a bad edit. (except I don't recall Andrew F getting any bad edit)
