I get the feeling that Nikki is just not interested in Jason in that way. She comes across as being concerned for him and wanting him to make the right decision but that she doesn't have any other kind of feelings for him. I personally don't think that she wants to kiss on him and she may very well tell him that she isn't into him like that and he needs to send her home.

In other threads, there is discussion on how / why we interpret what we are shown. It is natural to have a favorite whose actions some will always view as positive. The same behavior by our favorite's nemesis will be viewed as negative. This is human nature. It is to be expected ~ not right or wrong, it just "is".

TPTB create the person that they need to fill each role to advance the story of the show. We are presented with the created or edited version from the first night until the contestant departs. In a sense, TPTB create a favorite for each of us. Someone we can relate to. Some of the "characters" we can expect:

All-American girl/guy next door - Jason, Amanda, Noelle

One touched by tragedy / loss - Stephanie, Jeremy, Deanna, Danielle

The exotic or different - Naomi, Jesse, Bevin, Moana

The "it" girl / cheerleader - Melissa, Jenni, Shayne

It is good to keep this in mind while watching the drama unfold. It helps when trying to interpret the edit and keeps your bolld pressure in check!

Hilltopmom there is always someone for everyone to like . I agree. Im a sucker for the tragedy edit myself

but the guy/girl next door usually gets me too. This year my fav is Stephanie so far. So far the "it" girl (Melissa) just
makes me want to hurl

Enlightening and confusing edit tonight with several people getting painted with a negative brush -

The ditzy, narcisstic Natalie who loves bears crashes and burns. Jason can't quite seem to understand why Natalie is so angry when he wined and dined her, danced her close, told her how wonderful and beautiful she was, stuck the rose under her nose, and then told her he couldn't give it to her.

Mixed messages, buddy?? You don't tell a woman how fantastic she is and then withhold the goodies. Very poor form....

While I am on Natalie, is it just me, or did anybody else miss where Natalie was this heinous threat to everybody's happiness in the house? Geez, in the words of the immortal Janis Joplin, "Take a load off Fanny, and put it right on me."

What is going on with Stephanie? We know that she isn't in the F3, but for all the world it looks like any minute now he and Ty are going to join her and Sophie to make The Brady Bunch. We know he is going to continue dating her on a 2/1 where she wins out over Nikki, and we see her get some joyful time behind the wheel on a ferry before he really doesn't feel it for her either. Sorry.

Nikki....Wow, Nikki is so uptight and tense. She says she is a control freak and a perfectionist, but she decides she is going to get her first and only kiss since her first and only boyfriend. It doesn't quite work very well, but she is pleased. They then have nothing to talk about, so he takes her back in. She tells us that she is smart and pretty, but not fun.
Jason won't tell her that next week when he cuts her, but the edit is telling us that is why he cuts her.

Molly is beginning to make her move front and center to F2. Her rationale for not getting a group date fed into her edit of being a very confident person, but she was pleasant and stayed out of the fray in the house and RC. We saw a sweet kiss and good verbal exchange where he reassurred her during their 1-1 time alone before the RC.
We know from the upcoming preview that she spends the night in a tent with Jason which will begin once more to build the physical edit between the two.

If anyone was still waiting for Melissa to fall off her platform, she did it tonight. Although not seriously, she was shown joining in with some of the talk about other girls. We again heard her voice her insecurity when she was discussing how attracted to Natalie Jason was. Even more so than Jason, Melissa has a very expressive face, and we saw several frowns besides at the RC. While not getting a bad edit, Melissa is not getting a perfect edit either- certainly not an edit like Tessa's or Jen Sheft's during Adrew's reign.

On the storybuilding side, in every episode we need to see some little interaction between Melissa and Jason to continue the rising action. We have seen him voice comments that indicate his sexual attraction to her. When the group was casting each other, Melissa was the other volunteer (besides Erica) who plastered Jason's chest.
Later, during their 1-1 time when they were talking, she had her legs draped over his lap while she told him that when she was younger she'd had a breast reduction.
Like a typical man, he asked, "Why?"

Jillian's edit as energic and fun continues as she challenges Jason to a contest to see who can jump the highest on the bed. They then have a discussion on relationships which leads Jason to say that they share the same beliefs, she is easy to relate to, and they are building a connection.
He gives her the group rose.

She stays completely out of the house fray all together. To that point, Jillian is getting an excellent edit.
At the RC, we hear her comment, "I don't want to be the flavor of the week."

There is an interesting foreshadow for Jillian. In his 1-1 special talk time with Erica who bemoans the fact that she has never gotten a group rose, Jason mentions that the guy during his (last ) season who got 2 group roses didn't make it to the end.
That guy who got the 2 group roses, the same as Jillian, was Jeremy (F3).

I'll save Megan, Naomi, and Shannon for tomorrow.

BLOOMERS - I actually saw alot of great stuff for Melissa tonight - little bits and pieces - hard to pick up - but still there - it was shown that she is well liked - by her interactions with the other gals - that she is happy for the others - she was a confidant/friend to Shannon - she was supportive - caring - kind - and likable - so not all was in the negative by any means.

Jason had a VO during his date w/ Stephanie where he was describing what he's looking for (I can't remember the exact words & I forgot to push the 'record' button). He sounded pretty positive that the girl he was with had it, making us think it is Steph - but he's wearing a different shirt than he was wearing on the date - so the VO was at a different time and probably with a different person.

It would be nice to get a SC for that VO so we can figure out when & where he was. (Thank you in advance)
