What's up with that edit??!! - Page 32

Bloomers - interesting discussion about the conflict/resolution. What's your take on Andy/Tessa (the first one I paid attention to)? I find myself wondering if F2 is more often a "friend" edit - has that been the case much in the past?

I don't think F2 ever has been or should be a friend edit. The whole point is to build up suspense, and to spark some intense feelings when a favorite is not chosen. If Jason had gotten the friend edit, nobody would have felt badly for him. Same with Trista.

I think the friend edit is generally F4 or thereabouts. It's typically somebody the Bachelor/ette enjoys being around and has a good time with, and maybe even knows that the person is not in love with him/her and so won't be hurt or surprised at being cut.

yup - friend edits: Danielle F3 (Andy) Noelle F4 (Matt)

F2 is almost always the chemistry edit, Will the bach be thinking with the brain in his head, or the brain in his pants?? Bevin (Andy), Jenni(Brad)

There have been F3s that were thought of as frontrunners very early on Amanda (Matt), Bettina (Brad).....only to be shown not so positively as the show progressed - Amanda had her 'meeps' that became annoying - and the prank parents during her HTD and Bettina called Jenni a liar and a slut, her hometown didn't go well for Brad either......

With Tessa the conflict/problem was will she overcome her reluctance/hesitation and find love with the Bachelor?

While the supersleuthers had trouble with this one, from an editing standpoint this one didn't give me problems. There was tremendous foreshadowing in it all the way through. Plus, Bevin got such a negative edit. I didn't see how she could overcome all of that: she didn't mean to, but she was shown as causing a negative reaction in the house ( always bad news), she was whiny and clingy, she was the super physical edit and worse of all for her, they edited her as the slightly "tarnished goods" (divorced with big tat) in contrast to pure unblemished Tessa who was shown as never even saying a negative thing about anybody or even having a frown on her face at anyone ( although you know with all the contention she had one!)

Random thought. I was just watching a clip of Melissa and Jason's date and something struck me when I saw the "Melissa + Jason" on the blimp. When DeAnna and Jesse had their 1-1 date, wasn't there something simliar on the billboard when they got to the location that night?

Wondering if that's a new thing they are throwing into the edit. I haven't watched a lot of the past seasons, but I don't recall anything like that except for last season w/ DeAnna and Jesse.

Yes I think I recall their names being on the front of the concert place -- am I right?

Good for you! I think that indeed might be a little foreshadowing. It's not that the linking of the names woudn't have happened anyway, but they might have been edited out, and we would never have seen that part with either show.
That is in keeping with the idea that generally things shown in the editing are there for a reason.
