Yes, Jullian is the one out of 4 near his age. But, too, from what we do know at this point is that she is ultimately booted before the FRC. So, that leaves the remaining 2 girls many years younger than Jason.

(One of my former bosses was known to have bipolar disorder, and yet he had tons of friends and a very successful career as a lawyer.) I was just suggesting that even if Jillian herself does not suffer from depression like her mother, she could very well be predisposed (given the family history) to having some similar (if not identical) issue.
That's a big assumption.

The whole show is a big script, and Jason is just playing one of the main characters. This is no love story but a lust story.
Only commenting on the bolded part ~ if he is more interested in arm candy than anything else, why on earth did he kick Natalie to the curb so early in the process? Now she is the true definition of "arm candy".

And there were a couple of really gorgeous women who left the first night. Tall blondes. I think he looked for attraction and connection.

Eww - Natalie?? I didn't find her any more attractive than many of the other women

Although, he did toss out a couple of great looking gals the first night. And, I don't know what he sees in Naomi - I know many of you think she looks like Eva Mendez, seriously???

this is why i am very curious about the edit of this show -- jillian seems soo compatible with the edited jason from last season -- however in this season like someone said edited jason seems much more compatible with edited mel and the puppy love story we are seeing rather than the guy who we thought we know to be seeking a mature emotional connection with someone to build a life with-- which he keeps alluding to in some interviews...
jillian more than molly and mel (edited versions of them of course) shows the variety of interests that edited jason from the previous bachelorette who was into fun, adventure, depth/intuitiveness (psychology major) - he sounded a lot more intelligent in that season, caring/knowing how to show affection and being loving (we see jillian as that in this season while we saw jason as that in the previous one), someone with a complicated past which has enabled them to show more maturity...

Actually, that is not a big assumption at all. A quick look at the facts obtained by viewing the website of National Institute of Mental Health states that certain types of depression are genetic/ hereditary/ runs in families. They have also identified the fact that genetics can play a role in bipolar disorder as well.

This is not my opinion. This is the opinion of the National Institute of Mental Health.

I should of clarified what I am meant by saying communication. I don't see him as being honest about his feelings towards these girls. But, then, there would be no show.

I think Jason is a sincerely nice guy with above average looks-cute bordering on handsome face with a killer body, reasonably successful, certainly a decent catch by today's standards. In retrospect, I don't know if any of the 25 women were exactly right "on paper" for him. Probably Jillian was the closest, but if he's not feeling it with her right off the bat, the timeline of this show doesn't allow for feelings to develop more gradually, particularly if he's got an instant attraction to someone else (Melissa) to contend with. I wish them well, but am not very hopeful.

Bipolar Disorder and Depression do run in families and tend to "cluster" (ie, if you are prone to one you are more likely to be prone to the other). But these disorders are all on a spectrum; you can have severe Manic Depressive Disorder or mild mood swings. Certainly people who have these issues can get effective treatment and lead completely happy and productive lives. It's just a matter of recognizing and treating it.
