Re: What's up with that edit??!!

Yep...there has to be a connection!

A surreal, fantastic, incredible, unbelievable amazing, connection full of spectacular adventure with people who are all there for the right reasons and there for Jason. Don't you guys think so?

Why TPTB seem to have let the cat out of the bag to forums that discuss and analyze the show fairly easily could be open to a lot of speculation. It may well have to do with the past two seasons being train wrecks, and Steve McPherson sending a wake-up call (admitting falling ratings and not putting the show in the Fall Schedule pending getting "the right bachelor") that maybe it's time for a love story - or as close to one the show can deliver.

I suspect that TPTB are very well aware of the internet chatter that happens here and at other forums that cover the show - they have to know about them and read them - they'd be stupid not to. It could very well be a smart strategy to leak information and clues to the forums covering the show and give us the chance to watch how they develop the story instead of hiding it so no one knows what the story is. When we have show bloggers writing under their blogs with Melissa's picture heading the post, it certainly sets the stage for internet buzz.

I believe that the average viewer of the show will find the ending to be a pleasant surprise but they will "get" the choice - most viewers do not seek out the information we do.

Re: What's up with that edit??!!

You are very right - the average viewer does not seek out forums to analyze every move, freckle and comment. I watched DeAnna's season without doing that. (although it was and still is my opinion that she really wanted Graham and that Jason was a sort of last minute F2)

However, coupled with the popularity and sophistication of internet forums it is in their best interests to make that a whole "sideshow" for those who do - and watch a hopefully romantic storyline. Especially given the way the last few seasons have played out both during and after the show.

As you pointed out, for those who just watch the show they're being led the way it's edited and some will never really realize that but enjoy a romance. This way ABC gets both group's interest a little more firmly?

Isn't part of the fun seeing how fast the people on here especially have figured out the likely F1?

But The Bachelor/ette jumped the shark awhile ago. And IMO it's years too late for redemption.

Many long time TB viewers hoped year after year to see a fairy tale, when there was still a naive hope that a romance could be found on TB. And all Fleiss ever cast was famewhores and all he ever showed was drama and bs. So he's to blame that even the average viewers who don't read the boards long ago gave up that anything on TB was really about romance.

I seriously doubt the "internet buzz" is going to do enough damage control at this stage of TB's life cycle.

Er ... we're just a side bet ... an inside joke. That some internet chatter may leak out into media publications and generate buzz that gets viewers to tune in would be an added benefit to that joke.

In what counts - viewers - the first show did pretty well according to Medianet - "The Bachelor" dominated its time period and ranked as Monday's No. 1 TV program among Women 18-34 (4.4/11) and Women 18-49 (4.6/11)."

Poor thing. She probably wrote on her application that "kissing" was a special talent, so they bullied her into doing it on camera.

Luckily, Jason, as a veteran of all the trickery, can be a friend to all these girls. He went out of his way to protect Molly during Part 2 of that Access Hollywood interview, noting that he didn't judge her for breaking in on the Raquel dance, that one has to cut in, etc. to get the time (and what he can't say out loud on camera is that he well knows that cast are pressured into most of these "moves" in the name of "entertainment." Ha.)

Molly pulled it off with grace and a smile. Good for her.

Say what you will about Jason, he always comes across as an empathetic nice guy.
From the Media Thread...

"I'm a good kisser." Regardless of how many guys have told you that, or whether you have come up with that out of your own surmisings, that just isn't something you go around telling about yourself. RED FLAG!!!!

We see the F2 story beginning to build - physical attraction to a confident, sexy person
Women will view Molly's actions as aggressive, nervy, brassy, and bold; thus, she is getting the negative F2 edit.

However, it is very clear to me that actually as a male, Jason appreciated her bold approach!! He is clearly enjoying each encounter, and the proof is in the pudding - he keeps advancing her.

The editors know that women and men have a different perspective; they also know which group makes up the majority of their viewing audience.

It is amusing, though, to me to watch the editing knowing that common sense dictates that what they are trying to convey is just the opposite of reality.

I can't get this to open. Can't wait to see it. It is truly AMAZING that the same word gets repeated incessantly EVERY season. It that the first requirement in the Bachelor/Bachelorette contract?
