Re: What's up with that edit??!!

Love it - pretty much based on 1 day in her life - the GH day...................... was a bad day for many - not just Melissa - but of course Melissa gets all of the grief about it - ooo well................

It was a worse day for Naomi and Lauren, IMO!

Re: What's up with that edit??!!

I think once you are outside the bubble of isolation, you regain your sense of clarity. I mean think about it, these "contestants" are not allowed to see/talk to friends or family, watch TV, etc. For a period of time all their life pretty much consists of is Jason and the other girls remaining (which is no wonder they form such a close bond). So is it very suprising that these girls think they have fallen in love? It's like speed dating on steroids as somebody once put it. The things they discuss/reveal on the second date are things you generally wouldn't talk about until 2 months of dating. I think that's why in retrospect you have so many of the rejected saying they weren't really "in love" with the Bachelor.

I don't think it's giving her grief, more about questioning the premise that Jason wouldn't carry her along if he wasn't going to pick her compared to the other girls; that he would have let her go because she is taking it so hard. It was stated that nearly everyone was emotional and crying after the GH and Megan indicated that she held Mel's hand for quite a while but it was Naomi was in the bathroom sobbing and insecure for an hour and a half.

I think that what's being expressed is that if the others are expected to know what they're getting into, why not Mel, too? It's not about criticizing her, rather pointing out the seeming double standard being applied by some her fans.

After Andy proposed to Tessa claiming undying love at his FRC, someone posted that Andy had had one last fling, and ABC paid for it.

ITA with your entire post and this applies equally to all the remaining women.

To the best of my knowledge the only people that say "she can't handle it" are those that see an edited version of her while under the conditions you described above. We are all entitled to our opinions and they are shared freely in all threads of this board.

Earlier on in this season, there were many posts poking fun at the edited version of Stephanie. That has thankfully diminished considerably and has coincided with her imminent departure. As it becomes more clear who the F3 will be, the attention paid to these ladies has increased.

Evidently Melissa is viewed as the frontrunner or the "one to beat". It is interesting that hardly anyone feels strongly enough about the edited version of Molly to point out some of her "negatives" ~ which I will not go into. Yet she is the projected F2.

I am so happy that it is nearly Monday and time for a new episode of The Bachelor! If nothing else it should provide fresh screencaps to analyze, new facial expressions of Melissa to deride and of course ~ more true connections of Jason & _________ (fill in lady of choice) that are left on the cutting room floor.

I can hardly wait!

One of the best comparisons to the process was made by Sadie Murray(I think it was her, but it could have been Tina Wu--I have a real grey lapse with exactly which 'ette said this). She likened the bachelor to a hamburger in an environment where none of the women had had any protein or meat in a loooong time. Everyone wanted this hamburger for herself regardless of the fact some might be vegetarians and had not eaten meat for years or that maybe it was poor quality meat or maybe that she didn't even like hamburger. The point was every one of the 'etttes was bound and determined to get that burger for herself and could think of nothing else and was desperate for it.

I can't wait for new episodes, and most importantly..previews of the upcoming episodes. After HTD, the episodes will get more interesting because then there will be FD, and then LCD, and then...the FRC!

That's a great analogy. Sounds like something Tina might have said. She was quite witty. This season we have hotdogs, mustard, ketchup and kraut.

I think once it gets down to F2, the opinions and feelings about Molly will start to intensify. The contrast will be stark.

I can't wait either!
