I also didn't feel bad for Jason last season. This show isn't real live reality tv. It is heavily scripted and manipulated. Jason was the viewers choice. The viewers were madly in love with him. I believe that ABC made DeAnna take him all the way to F2 to set him up for this season. The powers that be at ABC knew the millions of viewers that loved Jason would tune in to watch him in his quest for his one and only. It is all about ratings, money and what the producers want us to see.

Thanks to ducky for jogging my memory on this one when she mentioned Molly's remark: anything related to being too confident is a definite red flag.

We don't hear F1 make remarks like, "I am a very confident person, and I am sure that I can....."

In editing, that is setting them up to fail at whatever they are confident they can do.

You know, though, I am going to cut those guys some slack. I love the thesaurus. Whenever I have had to write for some kind of performance or evaluation, it has been a tool beyond valuation; however, the cast does not have the opportunity to refer to a thesaurus when they are on camera. They don't even have the convenience of taking the time to think through what they want to say. They are at the mercy of the moment and the immediate vocabulary that comes to their minds.

I love the guy who said he had to basically dumb down his vocabulary, though, so that the rest of us yokels could understand him. Yuk, yuk

I found myself wondering if there were words the producers give them that they MUST say. Amazing has to be one. And of course everyone has to utter "for the right reasons", and "I'm here for [insert name of Bachelor/Bachelorette]".

Hmmm, which girl was it who said she thought it was "surreal" when she met Jason?

I also find myself thinking that ABC reads the FORT - it's more amusing than the show! I think they need to do a show of the FORT people rather than say the Reunion show, don't you think?
