When you compare Shayne to Chelsea Shayne was defenite sweet vs competetive/mean Chelsea. It would have been good v/ evil edit if Noelle or Amanda were F1 also. If he would've picked Chelsea they would have cleaned her up some and made it a close good girl vs best girl edit.
When I meant competitive, we would hear Shayne say things that indicated she meant to win ( races or competitions, etc) - usually that is a red flag for an F1. It was funny, but we also saw her stroll out there and kiss Matt while he was sitting with someone else. In other seasons, that would have been a no-no from the F1.

You are right about Chelsea. The confrontational person in the house is never F1 (except DeAnna who was the F1 who wasn't the F1).

Confrontational, too competitive, and usually *"Are we friends?" are dead give aways to an F2.

* Exception was Sarah Stone who was Travis's F1 who an arrangement he made with her.

If they don't make her purely witchy right away (Kirsten, Chelsea, Sara W and Krisily, and Moana) than I think they will build the risk with Melissa and somehow make Molly more of a "sure thing" to make her the "safe" choice knowing that she definitely would commit (like Bevin.) In good v evil you can have sure thing with F1 and hesitancy with evil as long as you have the stark contrasts. That's what makes that edit in play. Clearest example of this edit was way in the beginning in season 3 with Jen v Kirsten and also Shayne v Chelsea. sorry for the long posts y'all. I have studied this a long time and am keeping notes to see what emerges this time. BTW beware of the "false edit" Fleiss and his minions have used it three seasons in a row and even I 9who was right every year going into Brad season was fooled. I had Deanna, Amanda and Jason winning. He will sometimes disguise real edit behind a false one and he is very tricky with it. The good thing about this year is we have good SC's of FRC to be right with so finding true edit pattern through the false layers should be easy.
You have some fascinating insights. Please keep them coming. And by the way, many people got snookered by last season's edit which was horrible. By the time we got past the FD, I was beginning to suspect but was hoping it wasn't so. There were some tale-tale signs, but it was a generally awful edit. I am hoping they can do better than that this year as I thought that was just poor writing.

Trying to catch up here...so this is kind of what we are seeing of Molly so far. (Not that we have seen much...) Cutting in, talking not being afraid to steal Jason away, etc.

Besides seeing Molly in the catty group in the lobby talking trash, I didn't pick up on much on Molly as far as F2 probably because I was so focused on waiting for the F1 1-1 which didn't happen. However, there are lots of subtle hints sometimes in the editing that are easy to miss like Melissa getting out of the car 3rd ("The third times a charm.")
We are used to people cutting in on each other, so I didn't pay a lot of attention to it, but Bev noticed that she was more aggressive than is typical.

Aggressive = huge red flag

The Bachelor can say all of the right, polite, politically correct words ( I am flattered that so-so wants to cut in, etc.), but the editing is telling us that this is not to be taken as a good thing. Besides, what is he supposed to say?
"Get away from me! Can't you see that I am busy?!"

This is my "gut" - I think the love story is going to be between Jason/Melissa and Jason/Jillian. Molly will be kept as F2 so when he picks F1 it will be an easier choice. I think the edit might be, that their is a side of Jason that will fall in love with Jillian (confident, successful, fun loving, adventurous) and Melissa Jason will fall in love with her (cuteness, sexiness, affectionate nature, fun loving side) Both girls will have the sparkle he is looking for, with Melissa having the edge that she's his "type" (right down to her nationality)

Molly will stay to F2 cause its flattering how she is after him (she will be the pursuer, Jason the prey. I can't see Melissa being that flat out competitive) She will have a sporty adventurous side he appreciates. But I can't see him falling in love with her. I think he will be attracted to her and they will have their own sparks, but it won't be a kind of "I can't live without her" love like he has for F1.

But this doesn't explain Jason's tears, which look like they happen at F2, on the balconey unless letting Molly go was harder, on him. What does everyone think? Or do you think Jason's tears come earlier about someone else. (Jillian?)

That's what I mean, though -- Melissa's isn't costume jewelry. It's a ring that has significance to her, something of value....which to me, would be the only reason a woman would wear such a ring when she thinks she might get THE ring.

This is in regards to another comment about other women who have worn pinkie rings on the show...if it's just costume jewelry to another woman, I think she'd leave it at home. But because Melissa's pinky ring has significant meaning to her, she never takes it off.

Honestly, I think the tears are because he knows what it feels like to go to the FRC, thinking you've found the love of your life and get your heart crushed. He actually did love DeAnna, he DID propose to her...only to be crushed. So I imagine he'd be devastated to know he's going to do that to someone who loves him.

The tears fit with the person he seems to be.

Oh and edited to add that the tears are definitely at Rahimoana, so they are about whoever is in the final two, I believe.

That is how I feel. Knowing what I know, I can enjoy watching their story unfold.

If someone is locked into American societal traditions, I can see that they would keep their left ring finger open, or because this show requires it (and that the producers probably require further that the left hand's fingers and thumb be open). But I don't see why the woman would feel a need to keep her entire right hand open (although the producers might require that, except for when they don't think of that and screw up, or they try to fool us, and either way, we figure out the F1, LOL).
