Wonder what Walt Disney would say about all of this mess. Talk about a spin on fantasy cartoons!

Re: B13 Thoughts and Comments

For those of you who are buddies of MF (or have other less onerous sources of information, I have an Important Question. After the dust has settled, and the Final Rose withered, and the Happy Couple milked of the last possible bit of PR for the show, does ABC subsidize at all any further "visits" (conjugal or otherwise) between the pair? That is, of course, in the short duration of their relationship.

I mean, I was just thinking: J isn't really going to be able to afford plane tickets between Milwaukee and Seattle, and it's quite a long ride on a Greyhound Bus. If there are any still running, that is; so many were expended in the throwing of people under same during the season.

If a person says, she is a typical accountant or librarian people gets a picture of what kind of a personality someone has. I think the problem was you interpreted it as being derogatory. For that I apologize if you think it was meant to bash her. It is neither derogatory nor malicious. Not good nor bad. What is so bad about being a typical cheerleader? People have different strengths and weaknesses. Its just so happens that when you see her, you will think "yep, a typical cheerleader". Why is that such a bad observation?

A lot of cheerleaders are not deep thinkers nor book worms. That's typical cause they are not known for that. And its no secret that she is not very articulate, I cringed when she needed to refer to her in the third person during the ATRC. That was very soap operatic.
I had to cringe at that, also. Mellisa seems to be a nice young lady, but, I do understand what you mean about the cheerleader type. There is nothing wrong with being that type and we do get a mental picture based on our experience with them. If I remember correctly, Jason told her that she was different then his first impression of her when he saw that she was a DCC. He said he saw more to her then he expected. But the original image you mentioned as a cheerleader was there.

My Dad would comment to my brother, that he enjoyed being around the cheerleader type but he would have to think long and hard before he would ever settle down with one. My brother kinda listened, he married someone that was a heck of a lot of fun to be around but ALSO had a good head on her shoulders.

^Thanks for understanding my point rileymeboy.
Why do people have to be defensive about being called "the cheerleader"? Have some pride about being one. If I say the doctor/navy bachelor, we all know who Im talking about. Melissa is a cheerleader yes, but she presented herself in the show, as a typical one. Now if she has a law degree apart from being a cheerleader, more precise in the way she expresses herself, and behaves in a more mature less shrieky kind of a gal, people would probably refer to her as "the lawyer". This is a reality tv show, its not a mortal sin to refer to them as the characters they play on tv.

Not to say, that Molly and whahisface have bought the ticket to the happily ever after train. That guy, *sigh he certainly is a big ball of confused with a dash of wimpiness thrown in. I now understand why men like him need shows like 'The Bachelor' to feel studly. Shows like this give them the extra push in their egos that they have lost by being royally dumped in real life.

I wish I could say Im done with the Bachelor/Bachelorette reality show crap. But they got me when they chose "Jillian". She is the "typical" girl next door type who kicks ass in her career, very articulate and witty too. Now that's my kind of girl == imagine the kind of fellows who will be attracted to join this circus and will be lucky enough to be chosen to complement her. This better be good Fleiss.

I don't have a problem with you calling her a cheerleader, it's all the generalizations you're making about her because she was a cheerleader.

We are not in HS either where I know there is a lot of cheerleader v. the rest of us stuff. A DCC is a committed second job. Not only is it hard work, but it also about community service, about reaching out in hospitals and USO events, as well as damn good exercise. Great boots if I must say. All women are more than the sum of their parts, and being a cheerleader is only one small part of Melli.

I know I am a Melli supporter, for reasons I have explained; but despite that I don't define Molly by some part of her past or her personality or her interests. I call her Molly. Melli deserves the same.

Ok, coming down from the soap box. LOL
Maybe because first words out of her mouth was she is a cowgirl,,,at the meet and greet she talked about cheerleading,,,she made a concerted effort to let everyone know she was a dcc. And although many good things are no doubt accomplished by the dcc's they are also there to perform in very skimpy costumes in front of millions of people on tv and in the arena's and seeking the limelight so the "cheerleader" title was appropriate for Melissa's title on the Bachelor season and the followup conversations now taking place IMO.

I wondered about this too - the gift of the tent (no car or trip to far off places) - and you wonder how the 2 of them are going to do this long distance relationship .... maybe it's all a hoax and the internet will be blamed for it all !

Re: B13 Thoughts and Comments

Everyone's getting their thoughts out there, post ATFR2, and I still have things that are bothering me about this season also, both from the show itself and the furor on the boards. I have the worst feeling that if Jason had chosen Molly as his F1 and proposed to her and then did the switch to Melissa he would not be as vilified/berated as he is today. The same people who feel sorry and compassion for Mel would be finding excuses for his behavior and probably because Melissa was the fan favorite from pre-show airing. We all saw the love story developing between Mel and Jason and there was total investment in the honest single Dad and the cute as a button, vibrant cheerleader. And the sad part...all the self-righteous indignation and character assassination would still be directed at Molly who was destined through edit to be the least liked of the two left standing. I mean, come on, look at her scraggly hair and pony tail! Apparently this is a far worse faux pas than short shorts. And it will bother me for weeks that this travesty was fueled by a tasteless public dumping that they prepared us for beforehand. What motivated Jason to go along with this ? Was it all his idea? Was he a Fleissian puppet? Was the $ too good to pass up? We'll never know for certain unless someone close to one of them divulges and that isn't about to happen any time soon. They probably just want this all to go away. I am embarrassed that I have posted many times that I watch for the entertainment. Jason was not entertaining the first time around, and watching Melissa get dumped and Molly get defamed has not been entertaining. Now I have to crawl back into my closet and not admit that I watch this show, not even for entertainment.

What's a typical cheerleader type? I wouldn't have known she was one, if it had not been said. When I saw her I didn't say to myself, she's a cheerleader. Her personality you will find in anyone that's not a cheerleader. I've never been a NFL or NBA cheerleader, but I was in highschool and I'm different from Melissa except for the comedian part, we are alike on that part. If anyone saw me I don't think they would say I was a typical cheerleader. IMO Jillian doesn't look like a girl next door, she talks to fast. Heaven help her, cause it's going to be difficult for her to find someone genuine on that show, these people are not coming for love. They are coming for fun, their 15 mins or a shot at being the bachelor/ette. That's why we are not getting a couple that will last. They can find love on the show, Trista and Ryan are the evidence of that, but back then more came for love, but not now, it's about the things I mention above, will they come for the right reason.
