It's hard to judge who could handle stepping into an instant family from the short time we see the edited versions of these girls. Jill, Melissa, Molly - all may be ready or all may not be. Every one is different. Age isn't always a factor. I have seen some very mature 21 year olds, and some very immature 40 year olds!

ITA. At first I was thinking that Melissa would be to young for Jason, but after seeing their interactions, I have changed my mind. The heart wants what the heart wants.

As you said in you post, none of us can judge which is ready to step into a instant family.

My husband spoke with a lady that knows I follow the show and tries to figure out the F1. She does not read any message boards. He first asked her who she thought was F1 and she stated DeAnna, although she was not happy if this is what happened. When he told her that the F1 would be Melissa she was shocked because she thought she was too young. That is what one person who does not follow the boards thinks at this point.

On another thought, I think that when we are given the doubt storyline that typically ends up being the reason the couple breaks up. Not that it is the final one's fault, but the differences or concerns of how they fit into eachother's lives ends up being the reason they cannot get past that 1-4 month point.

Your post, BlondieGal is right on. The average viewer would not think (at this point, anyway) that Melissa is f1. Ive talked to several people who don't read anything spoiler about this show , and they do not have Melissa as f1.

And after only 2 episodes I can see why! Most know that there is so much more to come and Jillian appears to be the front runner IMO. It will be interesting to see how they handle Melissa's edit to show she is ready/mature enough for the Seatle livestyle that Jason offers if she is F1.

Nutty1 completely agree with you on this one, we must remember TPTB are only letting us see the story they want us to and most important, give credit to Jason who seems more then capable to choose someone he is attracted to and who would fit well into his family. Any one of these girls would be great if there was a true love with Jason (Ty is all part of the package) and she doesn't have to be perfect instantly, being a family, getting that "living well together" grows with time, that's why we don't birth teenagers!

I've been a Bachelor fan since day one and have followed FORT sleuthing for several seasons. I finally posted today in the Melissa thread, but don't know how to bring it over. A very good friend of mine is a former DCC. After she "retired" from the squad, she married a divorced father of two young girls. She became an instant mentor/stepmom as he has custody of the girls. It can and does work in the real world.

There has been an active discussion on the Melissa spoiler thread regarding proposals that probably shouldn't be there, so I will start it here:

Do you think the Bachelor should propose?

Bloomers: No, I think it is ridiculous for any of them to propose. Just a little more than a month ago the man was dating 15 women at the same time, and the night before he seriously went out with another woman. In some cases, we know from what was said, he even slept with the F2. (Tara)
