Re: Bachelor 13 - Media **Spoilers**

I didn't like the way the show ended, thought it was completely heartless and planned. I will watch the Bachelorette however hoping Jillian can keep things sane. That said I won't be on here until the Bachelorette starts posting because the more we talk about this the more we keep Jason in the limelight - I just want him gone.

Re: Bachelor 13 - Media **Spoilers**

Less than 48 hours after having her engagement -- and her heart -- broken on national TV by Jason Mesnick, "The Bachelor"'s Melissa Rycroft speaks out about the experience.
Quote:
She writes: "I want to thank everyone who has been so supportive throughout this process. This has been such an overwhelming experience, and I really do appreciate the support system behind me. This was definitely one of those experiences that changes your life, and makes you so much more aware of who you are and what you want out of life. Strange as it may sound, I am doing really well.

"I'm back in Dallas, pursuing the teaching thing, and attempting to get my life back to normal (if it was ever really normal to begin with). I still have my same life mottoes: Live life with no regrets, and keep smiling no matter what happens.

"I'm in such a good place in my life right now, and I really couldn't be happier. I don't regret anything that happened over the past few months; because I know I wouldn't be where I am today had none of it happened. I have, however, decided to move on from my reality television days, and get some sense of normalcy back to my life. As wonderful of an experience as 'The Bachelorette' would be, I think it's time for me to move on from my television days, and see what my future holds back in Dallas. I have no doubt it will be an amazing experience for whoever assumes the role, and I wish them the best of luck!"

Here is Mel's statement not sure if it's been posted yet

Quote:
After she agreed to work things out, obviously being "The Bachelorette" was off the table. Next to tap: The scorned Melissa. Fleiss knew a ratings coup when he saw one. But Melissa, still obviously upset about what transpired, refused. (Third-place finisher Jillian Harris will be the next "Bachelorette," which premieres in May.)

The 25-year-old former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader also refused to be participate in most media interviews, though she will appear on Thursday's "Ellen," which airs locally at 4 p.m. on WOOD-TV (Channel 8).

"At some point we'll invite Melissa to be part of an update package," Fleiss said. "We hope she gets over this, and that she finds the right guy. She's a terrific girl, and I'd say the most popular girl in the country right now."

Here is a statement from Melissa Rycroft:

"Although I could not be here, I want to thank everyone who has been so supportive throughout this process. This has been such an overwhelming experience, and I really do appreciate the support system behind me.

"This was definitely one of those experiences that changes your life, and makes you so much more aware of who you are and what you want out of life.Strange as it may sound, I am doing really well. Melissa experienced the heartache of betrayal (and rejection). When Jason dumped Melissa it was in the context of having an exclusive relationship--or at least what was supposed to be exclusive. If Jason couldn't get Molly out of his mind, then he never really had an emotionally exclusive relationship with Melissa to begin with; hence the heartache of betrayal and feeling cheated on.

Furthermore, when Jason dumped Molly it was in the context of standard filming; when he dumped Melissa it was in the context of exploiting what was transpiring in post-production.

There may be similarites, but it's like comparing apples to oranges, imo.

I agree with the exact statement that I quoted when I said I agreed. It was:

Fleiss: Believe me, that heartache that Molly experienced the first time was probably not that much different than the heartache that Melissa experienced in the ATFR. He was dumping the both of them on camera.[/i]

I see things different then you do. Plain and simple. Nothing wrong with that.

Can someone please send that SC to Ellen so if he tries to say this on her show, she'll have the evidence to show the audience what the truth is. Whether she uses it or not, it would be nice for her to at least have it.

I think it's too late for Ellen.

Maybe you should try Bonnie Hunt. Jason is going on her show Monday and she's taking questions to possibly ask Jason.

Re: Bachelor 13 - Media **Spoilers**

In the new print edition of People Jason does admit to contacting Molly once after NZ and before ATFR1 but he passes it off as just wanting to make sure she was OK kind of things. I don't remember the exact wording and I don't have the magazine in front of me right now. But it's the new People with Jason and Molly on the cover.
