And wht I don't understand is why people don't see that...saying that it's not different from Molly, because they both were rejected on tv.

Here's the thing, Melissa was ENGAGED to Jason. Jason told Melissa that he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He never told Molly that when sent her home. That's why saying that the 2 situations are "equal" is ridiculous! He made a commitment to Melissa and that right there makes him a scum bag for doing what he did to her when he broke her heart.
But it is splitting hairs to say it was all that different for Molly. It was hardly a real engagement they knew each other only a few weeks. And it didn't take Melissa long to get over it since she is back with her ex.

I would save my sympathy for wives that are deserted when pregnant or after 40 years of marriage.

I think Melissa is much stronger than her edit ever gave her credit for. Good for her for turning down the bucks to do her own show and just want to get back to her life.

That has not been verified as fact - only rumor.

I personally see a tremendous difference in having your "boyfriend" break up with you and and having your fiance break up you. Having been engaged (and married) there is a huge difference, and the rejection/pain is of a very different level.

Thanks for posting MF's interview!

This gave me a lot of insight as to why he's allowed/made some stupid calls.

This dude honestly thinks that he's doing right by everyone, is he married? If not, he needs to. Single men don't always understand what we mean when we say we want a "good story".

She states in the new people magazine issue, that she is still single.

What exactly is it that you agree with? Yes, they both felt heartache and yes, both were dumped on tv. IMO however, that is where the similarities end.

Molly experienced the heartache of rejection. When Jason dumped Molly it was in the context of having a non-exclusive relationship.

Melissa experienced the heartache of betrayal (and rejection). When Jason dumped Melissa it was in the context of having an exclusive relationship--or at least what was supposed to be exclusive. If Jason couldn't get Molly out of his mind, then he never really had an emotionally exclusive relationship with Melissa to begin with; hence the heartache of betrayal and feeling cheated on.

Furthermore, when Jason dumped Molly it was in the context of standard filming; when he dumped Melissa it was in the context of exploiting what was transpiring in post-production.

There may be similarites, but it's like comparing apples to oranges, imo.

THANK YOU! I have been saying this now since I joined (of course not that long ago...but I have been reading here on and off for at least a couple of years, following different shows though nothing like all of you!!!)

I stand behind the fact that the F1 actually gets the bad edit...this is the way they keep people interested and guessing - it brings the drama in what is normally a pretty drama-free show, except of course the "break-up" on each episode. LOL!!

And I also believe - though of course none of this is based on anything I know other than my own "gut feeling" or "women's intuition" (ha!) - that Melissa originally had the "bad edit" and Molly had the "good one". Therefore, we would think that Molly was the "chosen one" and be surprised - the drama so to speak - that Melissa was in fact chosen.

And when this all happened, they had to scramble and re-edit the show...giving MOLLY the "bad edit" and Melissa the one that would lead us to think she was the chosen on - and guess what, she was!!!

I also think this plays into the "pinky ring screencap" giving away the ending in the first preview - so this would play into the re-edit as well.

Make people believe that they wouldn't be giving the "good edit" to the one actually chosen - again, keep us guessing and add to the drama!

I don't believe this show was scripted. However, I think they take the facts as they happened and write a story - complete with crazy edits to produce drama - in order to tell it.

I think that is basically what everyone thinks, though...right? If you don't buy into the "it was scripted" camp of course.

Just my take. But again, I am so glad to see someone else besides me who sees the "bad edit is the chosen one" thing. I could have missed others saying it but you are the first I have seen!

Re: Bachelor 13 - Media **Spoilers**

Love that Mel is going to return to her normal life, IS persuing the teaching thing for those who said she lied about it, and told MF to shove it. Mel is the most genuine out of all of them IMO.

Oh also Molly is not moving to Seattle.

Quote:
I had a phone conversation with Molly Malaney this afternoon and she says that despite what she said on last night's "After the After the completely Final Rose" special wrapping up "The Bachelor," she's NOT, repeat NOT moving to Seattle anytime soon.

She's sticking with her Milwaukee job as a buyer for Kohl's.

And she says she trusts "The Bachelor" despite the fact that he dumped her on camera and then turned around and dumped the woman he dumped her for.

She says they're "dating" and she'd like to move to Seattle eventually. But she's taking her time.

Molly utterly and unequivocally denies that the ending to the show was scripted.

I'll have more on the conversation in Thursday's column.
