Melissa Rycroft: "I Don't Want People to Feel Sorry For Me."

She made it to the top of the Bachelor heap and had the engagement ring.

But six weeks after she trembled with joy over Jason Mesnick's proposal, Melissa Rycroft was tearfully handing him back the ring on national television and calling her former love "a bastard." Then she attempted a dignified walk-off in massive high heels.

Nonetheless Rycroft tells People magazine, "I'm going to be fine." Though she is still single, she added. "I don't want people to feel sorry for me or that I was a victim in all of this. I'm going to be okay."

"It was a life lesson and I wouldn't be where I am now," she said. "I remember sitting on the set going, 'I wish you hadn't put the ring on my finger, I wish things hadn't gotten so far.'"

But then again after the show ended, she knew things were not right: "The few times we did see each other, we were trying to find out what it was on the show that attracted us to each other."

Ok, how are supposed to believe the Fleiss machine? Have we not witnessed strange things all season, dresses not the right color, words that didn't match lips, fingernails with different polish... I know the sluethers on FORT give him heck, I realize he has to do some "hiding" or everyone would know everything that is going to happen before the show starts, but to me he has gone past the line of just keeping a suprise for us and ventured into the twilight zone. What is real, what are his lies? The Wheels on the Bus.......!

As I recall, Tessa was always saying she was going to move to be with Andy, too..and it never happened. The month she was supposedly moving kept getting pushed back further and further.

There has never been this much spinning going on by Fleiss and/or Chris..they are both hitting the media circuits HARD!

I disagree. There is a huge difference between Molly and Melissa's rejections. Mel was Jason's fiance, they had already taken their relationship outside of the show's format. Why do you think Melissa told him that she wished he had just let her go during the FRC instead of putting her through the humiliation of bringing her back on tv to officially break up with her? Complete lack of respect for someone he was 'supposedly' engaged to.
