Did I say it was less valid... NO All I said was that the wonderful editors played up Melissas self esteem the whole season so they could give her the ultimate blow at the end and that Molly handled it better because she does not have low self esteem (not my observation read the articles about her from her hometown) and yes it is my opinion that both ATFR fed into that.

I guess we have to agree to disagree.

Notice how Fleiss says he asked Melissa to be the bachelorette, but says he didn't speak to her after the breakup? Huh? So you were asking her to be the bachelorette while she was engaged to Jason? That makes no sense.

Melissa Sounds Off On ‘Bachelor’ Split

Fans may be in an uproar over “Bachelor” Jason Mesnick’s dumping of Melissa Rycroft on national TV – but Melissa said she doesn’t want anyone to feel sorry for her.

“It was a life lesson, and I wouldn’t be where I am now,” Melissa told People. “I’m going to be fine.”

Heading into the taping of the “After the Final Rose” special, where Jason broke off the engagement, Melissa admitted things had changed between the couple.

“The few times we did see each other, we were trying to find what it was on the show that attracted us to each other,” she continued. “I had to step back and ask myself: ‘Why do you feel you have to fight to save a relationship that maybe isn’t as great as you thought it was?’”

And while Jason had previously told reporters he was contractually obligated to keep Melissa in the dark about his break-up plans until the two were on TV, in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, the “Bachelor” said he ended the relationship a week before the taping.

“If you watched carefully, she wasn’t wearing her ring,” Jason told the LA Times.

So if Melissa knew about the split ahead of time, had the two gone over how they were going to act for the dramatic TV reveal?

“No. Her response had been, ‘How do you want me to react to that?’” Jason added. “I wasn’t going to coach her. I just told her that we were going to talk about things again [on the show] and however she felt is how she was going to react. I’m never going to tell anyone what to say.”

But regardless of what she did or didn’t know prior to the taping, Melissa said she has moved on and is just fine with how it all played out.

“I don’t want people to feel sorry for me or that I was a victim in all of this,” Melissa told People. “I am okay.”

I completely agree with you! I think that's a very heartless thing he said.

And wht I don't understand is why people don't see that...saying that it's not different from Molly, because they both were rejected on tv.

Here's the thing, Melissa was ENGAGED to Jason. Jason told Melissa that he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He never told Molly that when sent her home. That's why saying that the 2 situations are "equal" is ridiculous! He made a commitment to Melissa and that right there makes him a scum bag for doing what he did to her when he broke her heart.

She is putting it behind it. Slowly and surely. Once this week is over, she just wants to put it all behind her. completely behind her. She was offered a pile of cash to be The Bachelorette and refused.

And I'm not sure how many ways I can say this. First, Jason's story about when Melissa knew now has about six or seven different versions. "A week before," "The day before", "I couldn't talk to her and I'm sorry" "Woman's intuition..." "I wish I could have talked to her in private the night before..."

The bottom line is this: Melissa knew there was something wrong. Unlike what CH said, she didn't think the 6-week move up was to set a wedding date. She was under the impression her and Jason were going to have a conversation about the relationship, and she was reassured, that the relationship was worth fighting for and communication needed to be done. Hence her line about "fighting for Melissa..."

The reason we have spin from 20 different angles is because Chris H, Jason and TPTB have realized the wrath isn't about the choice, but the process.

Melissa will be better off in the long run. Heck, even the short run. She dodged a major bullet here, and I hope her life perspective will change in relationships. From what I know, she sees herself as a pretty girl. And the guys she dates view her and treat her as much.

But there is so much more to Melissa Rycroft....I think this experience, in the long run, may finally make her realize that.

Yep and with editing they are trying to cover their sorry ASSES and say she wasn't that jason had ended the relationship prior to that show. PUHLEEZE, just shut up and go away.
