I loved both articles - thanks to casualfan and cheekychook for sharing - he is a great Bachelor! His head is in the right place and he really is ready to share his life with someone. I loved his response on the grandma - but not sure I understood what the question was.....

Did you notice his favorite food?

Fatherhood changed his life. His "mini me" is the focus of his life. Choosing a life partner had to take into account how that would fit into a life of an active dad who plays golf and baseball with his son, someone who would rather eat a gyro and fries at Santorini's in downtown Kirkland than a rack of lamb.
Aren't gyros a Greek food? Coincidence?

Yes, but then in Greece that poor little lamb is considered mighty tasty as well.

I think Kasha referenced this article the other day, but I hadn't seen it until today. Some interesting quotes from Fleiss about Jason and about Jason's F1

Some interesting excerpts:

“Although I think this new one had a good chance of ending up married.”

The “new one” Fleiss is referring to is Jason Mesnick, who was rejected when he proposed last July to the most recent “Bachelorette,” DeAnna Pappas (though Pappas has split from her pick, snowboarder Jason Csincsak)......Fleiss says, “He’s the most mature, grounded bachelor ever. He is the most serious about finding someone, because he really wants to complete his family. He’s a real guy. He’s a man. He’s got a son. He’s been through a divorce.

“He’s not looking to jerk around, especially with his son involved.”

As always, Mesnick starts out with 25 possible fiancées, but with a child’s future at stake, Fleiss had to think a little harder about which women to choose.

“We have the requisite number of kooky girls,” he says, “but we have more sort of marriage material, more grounded women with careers, rather than just good-time girls, party girls, than ever before.”

According to Mesnick, before he appeared in “The Bachelorette,” he consulted with a child therapist and a pediatrician about the possible effects on Tyler.

“I was reassured by everybody in my life,” Mesnick says, “that he’s going to be fine.”

This time around, Mesnick consulted the same folks, but he also had a request to make.

“I also told Mike Fleiss, ‘I will not stay away from him for more than a week at a time. There’s no way. If it’s been six days, and I haven’t seen him, then you guys are going to hear something from me.’ They worked with me, without a doubt.”

As anyone who’s seen “The Bachelor” knows, there are frequent appearances by girls in bikinis, hot tubs and smooching. As Tyler is only of preschool age, Mesnick has some censoring to do.

“He will not see any of the bikini stuff,” Mesnick says. “He will not see any of the smooching stuff. He does not need to see Daddy’s dating life.”

Even though the “Bachelor” crew has seen way more of other people’s dating lives than most folks, Fleiss said they were getting into it this year.

“When it became clear who he was going to pick,” Fleiss says, “and then you’d see Jason and the girl and Tyler together, even the crew responded to it. The guys who have seen 170 rose ceremonies – even they were rooting for it.

“There’s a cute little boy there. There’s one more person to care about.”
