As for the low self-esteem aspect of what she's said to the camera - she hasn't dated in three years, she's unlucky in love, she doesn't want to be in love alone. I think those are interesting little clues into her story. Unlike Shayne who WAS the story, or Jesse who had the "Dude, rad, I can't believe the pink shoelace guy is still here!", Melissa seems to be getting the "will she have a happy ending?" storyline. That despite her good looks, charm and personality, she feels deeply and there is self-doubt there and the process is hard on her. Similar to Tessa a bit, but also bits of previous F2s, particularly Jason. I think we'll get our happy ending this time, though.

If not for the caps at the end of the preview of the proposal, and Molly's purple behind, I think this would have been a much more interesting season to sleuth.

To me "desperate" is throwing yourself at Jason and demanding his attention; repeatedly initiating contact and using catchy little gimmicks or sayings to remind him of you. Not mentioning anyone in particular as several women have done this since the first night. Jason's response to this nonsense is to send the lady home and we will see more of that tonight.

Perhaps TPTB are making a big deal out of her relationship insecurities to create doubt and to show us that even the beautiful cheerleader that many are envious of can have her heart broken. This has already persuaded many posters her to re-evaluate their original opinion of Melissa.

Just watched this again, and all I can say is, if we are wrong and he picks Molly I will throw something at my TV! I'm sure that won't happen......but that would the Worst.Ending.Ever!!!

They are so sweet together, they give me a toothache! In a good way.

I TOTALLY agree. If that happened I would see what it felt like to be a Jason fan last season.

I don't mean desparate like that, but her "I haven't had a date in 3 years" and then a guy shows her some attention and she's in love after a few weeks?? add that to the dynamics of the show and no contact with the outside world, per se, you have to wonder did she fall in love with Jason - or would any guy have done??

I'm not saying that's what happened but playing up that part of her life isn't helping IMO

I completely understand that concept. I'm currently in a 3 year dry spell, and am aware that I'm at the 'any man will do' phase, but I'm a lot older than Mel and have more insight as to when I'm looking at a man because he's a man or because he's a man I want to get to know a lot better. Know what I mean?

I agree - especially with the bolded part. I don't agree that Melissa is terribly insecure overall, just seems cautious and a bit insecure in her relationships. To me, she seems to be realistic about the situation and doesn't want to get hurt - especially given the nature of the show. I feel that sometimes the women with the most insecurities are the ones who act overconfident and are out to win at all costs - they base their worth on their conquests.

Ya, I know what you mean. We get to an age where "settling" isn't an option - we know that it takes more than just a guy by your side to make you happy... it has to be the right guy and for all the right reasons.
