She reveals that her mother was diagnosed with depression and dealt with it for 15 years, just going back from now that would make her 14 (but somehow I get the feeling it's been dealt with and she's either recovered or recovering).

I can't imagine what kind of life that would be for a teenager to deal with. Depression is debilitating and leaves family members wondering if they're a contributing factor (this is very common, although a misguided assumption).

Just knowing what we KNOW about Jillian leads me to believe that she most likely took advantage of family counselling to help her deal with her mother's issues and isn't covering up anything....

I was also considering the scene we were shown for the HTD - she is emotional - and living with a mom who has had mental health issues can really cause some trauma - it is very difficult to do and really does affect all family/friends. It can be very traumatic for a young person - I don't mean it in a bad way - but in a reality way.

exactly - I'd be more concerned if she wasn't showing emotion, especially when Jason said he needed to know if his feelings were being returned.

I can't remember - what was her concern when they were all in the bathtub and she had a bubble beard??

the "bubbly personality" may be a cover up. Quite often it is in these types of situations.

Very true - I think Jillian also has a nurtueing capacity as well - as we have also seen - she is a touchy/feely kinda gal at times - that we have seen with the other gals - but in some ways she tends to shy away from Jason it seems

She was going over what may be the reason why Jason wouldn't pick her (notice that Melissa's wasn't shown) and she said that he thought her expectations were too high. I still don't get what expectations he's talking about since we never got to hear that part of their conversations.

She does keep a certain distance from Jason - not necessarily an ice queen type of thing- but she is not yet willing to let the wall down between herself and him. The same type of BL with Molly as well - there is distance between them - even when they are close together - there is usually a barrier - be it physical or non-physical.

Sorry i still am baffled here - i didnt see any sort of trauma on jills end - still very strong compared to the other girls. we all know that EVERY family is 'normal' until we really get to know them - i mean doesnt every family have a story, or some case of either cancer, depression, divorce, alcolholism etc ? i see it much different here, if it was so traumatic i dont think she would have been discussing it on national t.v - i think from all the interviews we've seen - she is trying to enforce WHY she and her family are so strong and close... dont you all think ? i guess i am looking at this from another perspective.
