My goodness you make a lot of sense!! Another possibility that think might have been overlooked is concerning Chelsea. She just might have had on another pair of underwear under those little boy shorts. I'm labeling that shot as a strip tease.

If they do indeed make it, I want it televised too. Hey, I'm a fan and I have a right...right Even if they filmed their wedding and we got to see some of it like Amber and Rob. The uninterested have dozens of channels from which to choose.

Another thought I had was I wonder how much the IRS takes from that pile of money. Straight out it would have to be 500,000 bucks. Perhaps they take it over time. At any rate, I wonder how long it would last if you lived at the poverty level.

When I used "purpose" - it meant exactly that. The reason for which it was created, its intended goal. I'm not sure I would put Girls Gone Wild headed by Joe Francis, under the same umbrella as Life or National Geographic. Their "purpose" and intended audience are very, very different. So although "back in the day", some people may have considered photos of naked tribe members as "indecent", they weren't published with the intent to titillate.

If some don't believe GGW is a pornographic magazine, that's entirely their perogative. But I don't think most people would put it in the same class as Life or National Geographic, just based - again - on it's intended purpose.

....anyway the following are just some thoughts I've had, they aren't the gospel, and lots of people might disagree with what I think or see.

I think Shayne is used to having men follow her around willy nilly. She was put into the unusual situation of having to compete for a man's undivided attention. Highly unusual for her. I believe that particular aspect of the show actually made Matt seem like a more attractive prospect to her than he otherwise would have been. Shayne is a very cute girl and caught his attention very quickly. And once garnered how does one continue to hold that attention so that Matt's thoughts and feelings don't stray? Women like Shayne are extremely intelligent when it comes to men and their reactions, the perfect amount of teasing, the right length of a pause, alot of outward affection to support their position. I think she fed into exactly what he was thinking and feeling, confidently quelled his doubts about her, calmed his insecurities, and essentially had the conversation about the elephant in the room.

Matt couldn't believe his luck! He thought it was just too good to be true!

.... well you know what they say about gut instinct.

I am not suggesting Shayne was acting, what I personally believe is that the type of behavior I described above comes very naturally to her, so naturally that it is a part of who she is, and she uses it to move through alot of life's situations, including "love". But not maliciously or with forethought.

Of course I understand that if you are truly in love with someone, the above behaviors would apply as well, you'd want to reassure your partner etc. I just don't think Shayne is at that "mature" stage of love where she can recognize those things and respond to them in a completely genuine way. As evidenced by her behavior both on and since the show, she is still very childlike and uses her knowledge as a means of obtaining what she wants.

People don't use what doesn't work for them, she has probably had alot of success in reigning in men and knows how to do it with ease and most importantly - convincingly. I saw her portray herself as a vulnerable little girl, and I saw Matt completely respond to that. He wanted to just scoop her up, cherish her and protect her from all the big bad things in the world. This plays on both the man's need and desire to be the "Protector & Provider".

I see a far, far different side to her since the end of the show. She is in the lead and he follows, hence the puppy collar comment. The dynamics have changed and I can see that Matt's probably not liking it one bit. He probably feels like the old "Bait & Switch" has been pulled on him.

"But this isn't what I signed up for!"

And I think he'd be right. He's not going to get the same kind of payoff now that Shayne is in her element. The tables have almost completely turned, she doesn't strike me now as needing him as much as she seemed to on the show, and he's kind of looking like he's not so sure what to do with himself now that his job as "High Protector" has become obsolete. That kind of "need" from a girl you admittedly find "out of your league" can be intoxicating for some men, it makes them feel all..... "manly"

Anyway, those are just a few thoughts I've had and why I don't really see this going anywhere. She will get tired of him, and he will become disillusioned with her.

Of course there is always the possibility that they will get through the every day hurdles all relationships have, the additional difficulties adjusting to life outside of TB and transitioning their relationship to the real world, the media inquiries and lack of privacy, the questions that Chelsea has brought up, the photo spread in Girls Gone Wild, Matt's parents' reaction to the "spread", the living arrangements and having an ocean between their respective home towns, Visa issues and his ability or non-ability to immigrate (or hers).... need I go on?

Very tough go of it, and I wouldn't count on a wedding.

I totally agree with your post. The post-show Matt hardly even resembles the pre-show and beginning of show Matt. He doesn't even look the same!! As you say, maybe it will last, but since these relationships haven't lasted when the couples had many less strikes against them, I hold out very little hope for this one.

she did indeed, when I was looking for myspace pages on her before the season started I found one for her that had the title "Shayne Dahl Lamas" and she had not accessed it since april of last year

I'm so happy I read on before I made my comments.. Because I know mine wouldn't have been as level headed as yours..

but no GGW is not in the same class as Life or National Geographic..

Even my 18 year old daughter is laughing at this one..

Calypso I absolutely agree with your entire statement. Shayne is now getting the attention that she has obviously been craving and Matt is there to see it. Who knows if he'll ever get his coveted green card for his efforts. All is well.

Dodie, I think you have made a very good point. I wouldn't be embarrassed if one of my neighbors saw I had a subscription to National Geographic or Life Magazine, but I sure wouldn't want anyone knowing if I had one to GGW.

Just for the record, I don't have subscriptions to any of these magazine, lol!
