Thoughts & Comments in General #3 **SPOILERS** - Bachelor 12

So I forced my (English) boyfriend to watch this show for the first time Monday night. Based on this one viewing he thinks that Matt will pick Chelsea but that Shayne is more suited to him. I think the opposite - that he picks Shayne and Chelsea is more suited to him.

We agreed that neither of us saw any chemistry at all between Amanda and Matt - that final dinner they had was a mess of negative body language from Matt, imo. I've been neutral on Amanda the whole time but she did not do well at that dinner. She was very awkward and all the "likes" had me cringing. I understand she was nervous but it still looked bad. In fact her exit was one of the few things I found myself really liking her for - good for her for giving it back to Matt!

Assuming it's not a set-up (and I have no problem believing it is, I'm a big cynic about reality TV in general) I think either of the 2 girls left have the chance for at least a short-term relationship with Matt. Chelsea seems to challenge him and some guys, in my experience especially English guys, enjoy a woman who keeps them on their toes the way she does, or seems to. That process of being constantly thrown off by someone can be very intriguing to some men - even some women. That said, I think Matt and Shayne seem very at ease with each other and I think it would be a fun, relaxed relationship for both of them. Shayne in some ways actually comes off as LOW maintenance, emotionally. She's very giggly and chatty and seems like the type who'd be up for things. 'Up for it' in the English way of saying it. I can't bash Shayne for her clotheshorse-y ways because I am a huge clotheshorse myself and it bugs me when people assume I'm shallow or stupid because of it. Nothing wrong with liking nice things! And I'm jealous of her white watch.

Long-term I think Chelsea would be a better match but that's based on what Matt's said about his desire to settle down and have kids ASAP, and who knows if that has any truth to it?

One last thing - have Matt and Shayne been raiding the doughnut cupboard at night? Both of them are looking decidedly chunkier than they did at the beginning, although only Shayne looks OK with a little extra weight. matt looked quite dorky in a few shots from the last show. Those khaki pants did NOTHING for him.

Oops, ok this really is the last thing. I don't think any of the final 4 ever came off as slutty - Shayne and the spray-tanning and Chelsea and the panty-removal (which was edited to make it look like it was something it wasn't) - neither of those thing were a big deal to me at all. Neither of them whipped off their clothes *in front* of Matt, which would have been a different thing.

My thought is that Amanda's condescending, arrogant, self-righteousness attitude got to Matt. He learned as much about her as he could, found her boring like a lot of us, and maybe she was even boring in the Fantasy Suite and they had no sexual chemistry. I have no doubt that if Amanda had a bad attitude during the whole filming time, Fleiss would have definately added it in the show, especially with her being F3!
