It seems a lot of people think that "on paper" Amanda would be the best match. He said himself on the 50's date that they have "so much in common". We all know that "on paper" doesn't always equate to true love. If someone had asked me the type of man I was looking for 6 years ago before I met my boyfriend, I would have drawn out a different person then the man that I adore, love and respect now. Just as Matt said the first night, if he were to sketch his perfect woman, it would be Amanda. Yet they had little time before their date and it appears little time after their date. If he wanted more time with her TPTB would make that happen. It just doesn't seem "easy" between them. With Chelsea and Shayne it seems like it's much "easier".

Chelsea said public displays are uncomfortable, because of her shyness. I believe she DOES need affection, just not in PUBLIC.

except opposite...during the "hot and heavy, lust chase". . .my ex was affectionate....and I craved it, needed it...etc...
then once we married...he had no need for it....so I was like the previous poster who said that dissatisfaction derives from those unmet needs...and then frustration..as the other person thinks you are too needy...

now...I am remarried to someone, who, like me...wants that cuddly, wuddly, warm and fuzzies! And it works!

Very true, and we haven't been there when they have been together (or even seen much of it) to know if they click or not. For me, when I read his descriptions of what he was looking for, and the girl he picked, imo, Amanda was the closest match. Someone else may read the same descriptions and come to a totally different conclusion. The key is- which one does Matt see as the perfect fit?

The picture of Shayne and Matt on the beach kissing is taken from the Great House location. The photo is flipped I believe. Notice the way the waves come in, almost sideways to the beach. It is the same way on their walk and same way in pictures of Mullins Bay. All the pictures have the waves coming in sideways, so I think they are all at the same location.

The pictures off the beach by Hilton have waves coming straight in. The Hilton is on the south rimm of the island. The Great House is at the north end.

The waves on the both the west and south coast come from the left as you look at the sea. Generally the sea is bigger on the south than west coast.

I was just wondering... I know in past seasons we have debated about the possition of the ladies after the rose ceramony toast. I remember we did that for the hometown and fantasy rose ceremonies. Do we do it for this one last night too? Would be interesting to see where each of them were standing compaired to last seasons.

The other glaring omission for me is we are never shown Matt's kiss(es) when Amanda receives her rose at the RC. The only time was when she got her rose at the diner on her 1 on 1. Why were they too obvious?

I don't think there are any "standard" spot for F1,2 at this point.

In the screen caps thread post #171(i think) is toast at F4 for the last couple seasons.

Ok, I just have to get some of thoughts into print... there are SOOOO many options on how to interpret the edits this season.

Just for starters to let you know up front - my choice at this time for F1 is still Amanda.

HOWEVER,
I see so much chemistry with Matt and Shayne. It is undeniable. Shayne is cute and we have come to love her "silly, cutesy, whimsical and adorable" personality. I believe that she, of all bachelorettes ever, has had the most extensive character portrayal of any season. Definitely, she has been given the most airtime!

We KNOW Shayne as Fleiss wants us to know her. We also KNOW that Matt is enamoured by her and is totally attracted to the "sex kitten" with many levels of personality. For example, her makeup deal on the slopes was just too cute... almost scripted it was that cute and out of the ordinary.

Which leaves me with the question: WHY would Fleiss be creating this obvious edit in this way with Shayne?

1. We are seeing the chemistry with Shayne because Fleiss wants us to but that doesn't mean that Matt doesn't have the same or even deeper chemistry with an other girl.... Fleiss just isn't giving us the privilege of seeing it if it is there.

2. Does Fleiss want to portray to the casual viewer (which does not include us sleuthers) a. an obvious love story this time (Shayne) OR b. a dramatic "we didn't see that coming" love story (Amanda).

Fleiss has NEVER given us an OBVIOUS love story from the beginning of the show. Is he changing it up this time to shock the sleuthers INSTEAD of the casual audience? Is this his response to the negative feedback from Brad's disappointing finish?

3. Then the skeptical option: "this is all a set-up for who-knows-what-complicated reasons." Matt wants an acting deal.... Shayne needs some exposure.... Lorenzo Lamas and Fleiss are in cahoots with a pay-off somewhere.... who knows.... Shayne is being set-up as the next bachelorette to boost ratings and actually get some interested guys to sign up for the Bachelorette.... who knows what conspiracy lurks in Fleiss' brain???

One last observation: When Matt is standing on the podium for the assumed FRC, we see his face light up when a girl approaches and his face has the expression of seeing someone "cute". There is a quality captured in that expression that is very endearing, intimate and "cutesy" (for lack of a better word). However, we don't know if at that time he is greeting the F1 or the F2. Whoever "she" is that he is greeting at that time, the expression reminds me totally of how he looks at Shayne.


AND THEN CHELSEA,
I personally question the edit she is being given. Her not-so-flattering fight with Marshana was drama that we usually don't see with a F1. Moana for example had a bit of that and wasn't F1. I am not saying that the F1 can't have any drama.... Fleiss usually doesn't show it to us if it is there... At least not as dramatic as yesterday's deal with Chelsea and Marshana. She also had the drama with Robin. Then what about the body shot with Kelly that we never did get to see.... We are seeing too many borderline, negative edits of her which really makes me question if she will be F1.

Matt obviously has an attraction to her athletic side but when I watched him on Ellen and she asked about the "arm wrestler" he didn't even seem to bat an eye of interest. It was almost as if it was in the far recesses of his memory. If she was F1, I am sure we would have seen the instantaneous reaction in his eyes (not a giveaway but at least some spark of remembrance)... there was nothing.

I don't think F1 is Chelsea for a number of reasons.

THEN, AMANDA.
Is she getting the hidden edit?
Is she the "All American girl" whom he has been looking for?
How much of their building relationship is actually on the editing floor?
How much doesn't even exist?
I see a lot of compatibility between the two... just not seeing the actual times and events where this has developed. It is obvious to me that it HAS developed, we just aren't being given the privilege to see WHEN it happened.
They kiss very passionately, easily and often.
Matt is doing the "foot lifting thing" at last night's toast when he is leaning on Amanda. Amanda did it on the 50s date. Was this scripted both times or do they just do this when they are together?


This is a difficult one to call.

I think Matt's favorite two are Shayne and Amanda but I'm not sure if they will be the Final two standing. Chelsea in my opinion is his third favorite but she may be F2 to spare the other. However, I see her leaving at F3.

I have one clue from the promos that also leads me to think that Shayne and Amanda are the final 2. There is a promo that shows two scenes of London in the middle of the dating process. Prior to the one scene of London you have clips of Shayne fading into London scenes and further on, you have clips of Amanda fading into scenes of London. I think those two go to London to meet the parents.
