The posts that discredited that report seemed very credible - I wish I could remember where they were (which thread). IMO, if something goes on ebay and is reported to be a hoax, it probably is!

Cape actually emailed the ebay seller.

This is what Cape stated:

I asked last night to see a picture of Chelsea holding the dress...and got an email saying that the item was being pulled and she would be auctioning it at a charity event at a later date...apparently she listened to our advice to wait for when she is better known and will get more money for it!!

Cape seems like a more than reliable source to me.

I just wanted to clarify my post above.
I am not trying to imply any of the posters aren't reliable, I am trying to imply that mixed messages are being given to people who communicated with either Chelsea or the ebay seller.
So it's a tangled web.

The sleigh ride saying that she didn't like holding hands....she jsut came across a little gruff.

I do like her though. I would like to see her stay long than marshanna.

Sorry if I wasn't clear either - I appreciated you bringing the exact quotes over to try and clarify - well, at least clarify what was actually said about the dress. I thought the two different responses from the seller added to the inauthenticity of the ebay post, and that SunshineCali was confirming that.

Chelsea is one cool chick, who appears to have had an excellent adventure all the way around, and I feel equally positively toward Amanda. I love how natural they can be in their interactions with Matt, especially at the end of the show. I bet they had a blast whenever the cameras were not around.

I am hopeful Chelsea and Amanda were literally or effectively "briefed in" by their field producers or Matt into the pre-ordained outcome, through some combination of:
-- eventually being cleared to receive that information as time wore on;
--someone else figured it out and shared it (including I don't rule out Shayne herself who seems like a good egg in many ways);
-- Matt shares it at least as of overnight dates;
-- they together figured it out by being halfway observant.

So, they decided together or independently let's just do what we planned to do all along: have a blast, see new places, make new friends, party with Matt who cracks us up and is totally our type, but isn't free to "pick" us to win the show.

And in any event, neither of us is prepared to move to England with some sales guy for a bank we hardly know, or subsidize any Hollywood career for Matt.

You never hear either of them on camera refer to the other as a rival for his attention incidentally. Maybe later, after all the Matter of Time girls are dismissed.

I hope, in short, they were emotionally able to take the experience for what it was, a paid vacation including need to participate in camera kissing, not a Quest for the Perfect Mate.

I totally agree. In fact I just commented to a Poster friend:

"I'm hoping he does pick Shayne. This way Amanda and Chelsea have dodged a bullet and this will have given Shayne more publicity and exposure and hopefully will help her career.
What truly amazes me--do these women really not question this man's attributes? I realize we would not be shown this on tv--but somewhere along the line this has to be explored--at HTD or FD --hopefully before the LCD. Why would Amanda or Chelsea want to give up the things they have in life with someone who appears to be nothing but a Peter Pan?"
