Yes, thank you Blondie! I posted this in the thoughts thread earlier but it may have gotten missed. When I saw that kiss, I thought WOW, the tenderness of it, the way he was stroking her face and her hair, the way she looks at him, just WOW. But it seemed to be an odd placement for that particular type of kiss. It made more sense as I read the epi recap on ABC this morning.

"He asks if she's sure she wants to be here and she says, "Look what I'm doing -- I'm sharing a man I'm falling in love with with seven other women!" They kiss and he strokes her face reassuringly."

The "i'm falling in love" part was edited out, but in rewatching the scene you can see that Matt almost spits out his drink and then comprehends what she said. He then looks at her with the little smile you have captured in your screencaps.

What does it mean? Heck if I know, I just thought it was a real romantic moment. I'm with those that feel like they are witnessing a love story this season....

Me too, it was a very sweet, telling moment for me! ahhhhhhh would give anything to be looked at like that.

Very interesting, casualfan! Thank you for sharing that with us. It makes "the looks between the two" even more understandable given what was actually stated.

I noticed his kisses were more like pecks, frequent repetitive pecks - not the open mouth stuff he had with Amanda. I think he cares but is starting to withdraw from Shayne, I saw a little aloofness with him toward her just before he became tender and delivered his pecks. He seems to be holding back a little bit more now.

Almost as if he was holding an adorable little girl.

I notice that he kisses back as to how he is being kissed. If that makes sense.

I do get what you mean, (he takes the girls lead) and you could be correct. I somehow thought she wanted more of what they had experience together in the past (wine trip). He is still smitten with her for sure, but I think he is also using some intellect in his selection process and showing a little reservation. JMO

He didn't seem to be distancing himself from her at all to me--i think we saw an edited down version last night of the sparks between them (except for the great moment on the couch). And, when they first went and sat down for the 1:1 time at the RC he said to her that she seems to be staying back, and asked how she's feeling or something to that effect--so i don't think he's distancing himself--he's truly smitten -- the look says it all.
