Re: Shayne **Spoilers**

Amanda was my early favorite. It is pretty sad if her condition was the main focus on her. I just need to see lots more interaction with Matt if she is f1.

They need to set up certain shots which means the couple can't just jump from one activity to another. A cameraman wasn't just conveniently sitting in a boat out at sea just in case Matt and Shayne would jump off a boat or something, and the two of them didn't just accidentally wait till sunset to stroll on the beach. All of this stuff is set up. For this alone, for how much time it takes to set up stuff, I think those may be two different dates.

As for contractually agreed upon minimum screen times, yes, I think she's got that. She would be a dummy if she didn't get it down in writing. I don't think Matt could have kicked her to the curb in the first episode even had he wanted to. Lucky for him at least she's pretty enough to make it halfway believable between them, although I didn't buy it. He may have liked her enough so maybe less pretense was needed in the end. A clever casting choice on Fleiss' part. It was said upthread that Matt is just a supporting player here, and I'd have to agree. She was a nobody before this but he was an even bigger nobody, but she had the greater potential of crawling up from the bottom of the ladder. All she needed was a little push. A primetime push.
I found this blog the other day by a British guy who was Dir of Photog when the BBC version of the show was filmed in Barbados (The Bach was a rich Brit guy with great house in Barbados). It makes your point precisely, as he describes what's involved setting up the Get out of the Limo shots. In terms of lighting, camerawork, etc., making a primetime TV show is the same amount of work, even if the people being filmed are not speaking memorized lines.

5) carry from water to sand
6) kiss sitting on sand
7) kiss standing

Sun sets at approximately 6pm

8) cuddle/kiss on bed
9) kiss in pool

I'm having a hard time thinking they could do all of this within a day, and all of the water activities before 6pm (sunset per weather underground).

I think they are from the fantasy date and the last chance date.
They've got lots of camera people around-- you could've had the jumping from the trampoline together and kissing in the water all in the span of 10min. Who know-- maybe they only jumped off the trampoline once. [Not saying it happened that way, but we weren't there!] He carries her from the water and then they kiss on the sand.

I just think we were given A LOT of shots of them. [Again, Shayne is Fleiss' draw this season b/c of who she is.] And, Fleiss has to give us SOMETHING to fill all the SC montages...

An inside source during Travis's season indicated that Moana, Sara, and Travis each had their own filming crew which was a surprise to me. I always thought it was just one crew. I don't know if that means there was an additional filming crew for F3 or not.

She proves herself to not only care for Matt but also for the other women in the house-how on earth does this make her selfish or self-centered or there for the wrong reasons?
Exactly--Her taking Kelly and AMy over to get matt away from robin so they could have some time with matt showed that she was not self-centered--she left so they could have their time, and even said to robin that she had a rose so it was important to let those folks who haven't gotten time with matt to have that time. I thought that was the most selfless thing I have seen to date.

Re: Shayne **Spoilers**

Also read his section in A Day In The Life Of. Fascinating information about set-ups and how many crews are needed to cover all the movement. His description of the show where he was DOP sounded very close to what we see in the American version of The Bachelor. Twenty-five girls, limo arrivals, in the door to a first impression PI, fifteen roses first night. What we knew, but is always surprising are the time gaps between scenes. In his example, It took 50 minutes between the time they lined up the girls for the rose ceremony and the time the Bachelor arrived. Then there was a problem that took another 10 minutes to fix. It makes you appreciate even more how tired the girls are by the end of night - standing around in three inch heels waiting, waiting. Very good read. Thank you, jlccaz for bringing it forward.

I don't think the extra crews are that surprising. Think about the previous episode. While Shayne and Matt were on their date, we had shots of the women back at the house and Amanda meeping.

During the group date, we had footage of Holly spraying Shayne, getting the date boxes, etc. There would have to be, at a minimum, two crews to keep everything filmed in the different locations. Happens every season.

I would be surprised if an extra crew always followed around Moana and Sarah separately, even while in the house because well, it wouldn't be too tough to put two and two together and reach the conclusion that you're a "matter of time" girl..

Thinking on this, as a professional in the industry, Noelle would recognize that she must be a Matter of Time girl, because production energy/resources (lights, camera, action) was focused elsewhere. The girls are sworn to secrecy on this and every aspect, but you can read it on them.

So, someone like Robin getting all that camera attention, can feel very confident in her position with Matt (reading the cues in the room). Until they pull the rug out that is.

Each had their own crews after they got to F2 for sure. I just don't know about F3. If there are several crews, and they don't divide until F2, that could mean that you have 1 crew setting up in one place while another crew sets up in another spot, etc. ?

So true. I think this is the only bachelor season where one of the bachelorettes was the main attraction of the show, not the bachelor himself. Maybe that explains why the editing is so different than other season?
