I thought you made a valid point about the way they dealt with it - BUT, I thought it was weird that they had that much to deal with in such a short time. To me, that would be a huge red flag that Shayne would be a high-maintenance girlfiend who would need alot of attention and reassurance (again, the TV Shayne, but in this case, it wouldn't be surprising if it was true IRL).

Straight talking or being courteous or rude or blunt because that is your style would have been excusable if she was talking in generalization. She was not. She made it personal and about her and her wants. He may not like that fact he is on a date with seven women either but it is what the process is. He is trying to make the best of it and to have someone throw a tantrum like a five year old is a little much.

When I saw this scene with Shayne and Matt my initial reaction was.....they have met before.....Maybe this is why someone posted all is not as it seems. Could Matt and Shayne have met and hung out before when Matt was in town for meetings with Fleiss? Could their paths have crossed in London? It was such a normal reaction for people that have known one another...

Very possessive behavior after only knowing a person a few days.....tends to make me think that was planned for the show to add drama.....

I had the same reaction - it did make me wonder if there was some prior connection.

You describe Shayne as having a tantrum like a five year old. I didn't see her yelling or screeming or crying out of control.

Or, conceivably, they both understand their part in this series as Fleiss' "ace in the hole" lest Matt not find anyone. Also, we must not forget the amount of time these people spend together that is never shown. We also must keep in mind that, even if there is a Fleiss staged safety net this time, one or both of these people may actually fall for the other to some degree.

Not all five year olds yell cream or cry out of control when the have a tantrum. She was just this side of stamping her foot. Given the way she talk I half expected to see her stamp her foot.

It was just too much WAY to early in the process.

Not to mention Fleiss' cash cow.

Drat! I was thinking those cows had finally been laid to rest I am SOOO bad.

ETA As a loyal viewer, I live with the sham part because there is always the possibility that Fleiss can hit gold and have 2 people actually click. I'm also aware that we are 2 centuries away from a gentleman's meeting a lady at a few social gatherings then making her "an offer of marriage."

When Shayne discussed her actions with Matt, she called them "my little tantrum". That was the way that she labeled it.
