I agree kw and when it does occur it is not at any set stage of our life.

There are still a lot of theories about the post formal operational thought process and is an indepth subject. Especially, the effect it has on the gifted.

Things that make you go hmmm.
Call me cynical or call me realistic, but I definitely think that some of the girls are selected to be on the show based on what their psychological exams show. What I am saying is that I then think that Fleiss gets "help" from his professional psychological staff in how to go about exploiting certain personalities/situations so that we get these dramatic scenarios which depict an understanding of the human psychological condition which I think is beyond his basis understanding as a film producer.

It is my opinion, that is why the pychological testing so Fleiss can get all the areas he wants in the show. It is also a thought, most of the psychologist that are employed on these shows may not be the ones you would want to take a family member to. In order for them to keep their jobs..they do what they were hired for and that is to do what is necessay to cause the girls to act as they want for ratings. Didn't we hear that in order to get a girl to cry they started talking about a family member that had passed away.

Re: Shayne **Spoilers**

You know it never occurred to me that Fleiss asked Shayne to act out that whole drama scene. I can see though that if he did, she did a great job and fooled Matt as well.

They look very cosy together on the winery trip, I wonder if Fleiss told Matt that Shane was asked to drama it up a bit in Vegas and that is why he is able to put aside the tantrum. It would certainly explain why she was not eliminated in 2nd week, and may even place her at finals if Matt believes that she really cares. But, how would he be able to tell whether she was acting or sincere after knowing her acting was so good as to convince him in Vegas? Or do you think he is in this for a show bus career as well?

I think Matt was aware of who Shayne was prior to meeting her - but I don't think he has a clue of why she is actually there - the big question is........ - is she - or is she not.......... - a backup for F1 if no connection with anyone else occurs - she would be the guarantee of F1 in that case.

I think he is truly taken with her in a way tho

I wasn't implying the causal viewing audience is stupid. I am saying they just don't care to think about it and don't dwell on it. They are going to look at the character that is presented.

My husband could give two hoots about how Shayne is in real life. He knows her as the character she was presented as on the tv. He isn't going to waste his time Tuesday through Sunday as to whether she is really a nice girl. He saw a drama queen, he walked away on Monday thinking drama queen and that is all he is going to think of her. He is far from stupid.

We went into this season with this question on our minds which is one of the very reasons that Shayne is being so hotly contested. We simply don't know. We don't want to believe so, but there was online that one little acting stunt of his, and two girls got the ax for mentioning it to him at the Meet and Greet the first night.
There are those who believe he's in it for the acting and will end up with Shayne.
There are those who believe that Shayne is the safety net for Fleiss, and even if he isn't in it for the acting he will end up with her.
There are those who believe that even though Shayne is the safety net, if he ends up with her, it is because he falls for her naturally.
There are others who believes that he is on the straight up and up.
There are others who believe that they will have to wait and see.

Right now, I can totally see the plot development for Shayne following a questioning of her motives morphing into a F2 appearance. I just think right now that Amanda's declaration that Matt may be her hiccups cure, holds more promise.

I thought it went up through 25, in fact. I played around with this on Google, and there are a lot of academic studies that now take this for granted. Apparently the original study stating that our brains aren't fully developed until the early or mid-20s came out around late 2000/early 2001.

It certainly explained a lot of my bad choices right out of college.

And I don't think anyone should read this as a put-down of Shayne. The statement is based on well-regarded scientific research, and it's just a fact. Our brains keep developing into our early to mid-20s. There are a lot of fully functioning adults at Shayne's age, and she appears to be one of them. It's just that their brains are still growing.

I think possibly Fleiss told him, there's going to be a beauty named Shayne that I think you will really like. And that's all he knew about her because when she was talking about her family he looked surprised and in a good way. His reaction tells me that he did not have prior knowledge.
