There were six other women there, five of whom did not get time alone with Matt who did not act the same way. She, IMO, put the title of drama queen on herself.

I hated the waiting in the wings part too. Is it true she is supposedly the back up bachelorette - they almost caster her before Deanna signed on? I heard that here - but I think it is weird. You'd think they would want someone later in their twenties who is more likely to make the commitment work to get married - not a 22 year old who wears too much blush.

Also - if she is the F1 as people have been saying - why would producers make her out to be so unlikable from the get go? A lot of people have a bad impression now, and that would be hard to get over.

She had less time in the first show than Amanda. She was not in any way acting the priviledged spoiled brat in it at all. It is only one show, the second show, where she had an issue and apologized later. It was only one show!

I agree with you also- these girls COULD be perfectly wonderful- but we are shown what they want us to see- so we can make an 'informed' opinion- the opinion the producers want us to have. Last season I was turned off by Deanna- because of what we were shown- I said she couldn't be F1 because of the edit- and she wasn't F1- because there wasn't one...
and I'm sure she's a nice girl- but I was led ....no conned into believing otherwise. Shayne told Matt there were all these other girls 'eyeing ' for his attention...the expression is vying , Shayne not 'eyeing'.....

Out of the hours of taping- Fleiss chooses a few minutes here and there of the girls to show us- Amanda's hiccups, Shayne's 'welcome to my set' , Chelsea's double jointed display (ewww)

I think most folks went into the show with a bad impression of shayne because people think she's been "hired" by fleiss (which I highly doubt is the case)--so perceptions of her have been skewed to the negative from the beginning, and there's nothing she could do to make people think she is a great girl--personally, I like her, and feel that it's important to remain objective in the sense that we know fleiss edits things to make it look more dramatic and more than what it is--happens every season--and people perceive folks the way they want to from what they're shown by fleiss--but, they are also human beings who are likely very good people, and not hateful, spiteful aliens--I think that some perspective is often lost and editing often forgotten.

Fleiss' job isn't to make us like the girls, it's to keep us watching. Drama is what produces that. If a girl has some sort of drama (big or small), Fleiss will show it. I saw through Fleiss' editing regarding DeAnna last season, and thank God because she is an amazing (drink!) human being. I can see through Shayne's edit, as well. What you saw was one episode...one instance.

I don't believe the opinion of some that Shayne was hired to guarantee a happy ending- to salvage the series if Matt didn't find someone. BUT I do think its highly possible that she saw the opportunity to get some free publicity and exposure to help jump start her career. Not all of these girls are really looking for Mr Right- some of them are just there for the free trips and the 'party'...and if they happen to fall in love- ok- if not- hey- maybe it was a good time......

I guess I will stay with my old saying - you only get one chance for a 1st impression - to the ordinary viewer - and maybe not to seasoned board folks - they saw what we did - but may not understand - or ''get'' - what is going on in reality from the producer - they saw a story line taking shape - now the question is - what happens next...............

I have to say " I agree with your post". your calling it exactly like I'm seeing it too. Shanye may be beautiful and she may be a sweetheart IRL, but her character on the Bachelor is one of "Drama queen" and spoiled brat. I got the exact same impression. Fleiss is editing her very poorly , and I'm kind of surprised ..
