I see it the exact opposit. I see him totally connecting with Amanda on every level , I think they look great together too. and Like Matt said the more he gets to know her , the more he realizes they have so much in common.

I think many are placing her in the F2 because of all the SC's of her in Barbados. There seems to be too many to just be one date so many are thinking she gets a FD and a LCD. As for her being the winner, I think it is based on rumor, mostly on Ted C. from E! Online that said a "flaxen haired beauty in the business" is the winner. I don't know, maybe there is some stuff I missed that others will be able to fill you in on?

Some other things:

1. weboflove posted straight up that it was Shayne, and the relationship was a sham. But, that person later admitted his/her information was industry gossip, not firsthand knowledge. (though query who would be dumb enough to admit they had firsthand knowledge and were writing about it in highly searchable posts on the internet!)

2. A tight-knit group of old Fort-ers with super secret sources/methods found credible over the years by some have formed a fan type group called Team Shayne, which counts someone who described herself as Shayne's mother's best friend (!) among its members. That person first posted denial of weboflove's posts plural, but later retracted, saying she was only denying one (completely irrelevant) post: that Shayne had a personal trainer and nutritionist.*

3. Multiple insider posts suggest that the fix was in for Shayne from Day One, though none can say whether she was shown the exit ramp by Matt or by producers before the Final rose was handed over, because they did not stay around long enough to see. (leaving us a micro-gram of suspense)

4. Ellen DeGeneres says it's Shayne.

5. Before Matt was hustled (by producers?) out of LA back to the old homestead in England, TMZ reported he was making the rounds of LA bar scene, openly flirting, suggesting he was not "off the market" as one would expect if Wesley and Buttercup had kissed on a hillside in REAL LIFE. This was interpreted by some as corroboration that the producers were harkening back to the ancient Hollywood tradition of raising individual celebrity profile (and publicizing an upcoming show) by having a Show-mance, a very cool word I learned from Ms Froggy.

Personally, I accept 110% that Shayne was there to play a role, but am unsure what role she was assigned in the end, and have a probably vain hope that (a) Matt "Manned up" along the way and expressed his own preferences or (b) Matt at least let the other girls (Amanda and Chelsea) in on the fact they were filming a farce not a documentary. I guess a distant (c) possibility is that he fell for his co-star really truly. That happens.

** Sort of feel sorry for Shayne if she doesn't. Jen and Cameron and Drew and Reese and all of the other Big Girl Celebrities have those! Maybe when she's 24.

I think most of the speculation is coming from ted cassablanca and the screencaps. And there have been a multitude of posters who have come on to say negative things about this season---

I am a member of Team Shayne, but I don't have any inside sources or super secret information--I like shayne because of what I see on my tv screen and I think it's sad that so many feel this is a setup and there's no way that shayne or matt could actually really like each other.

From what I see, shayne and matt are hot for each other, and shayne is the only one with a real storyline, and she has multiple SC in barbados which we know represent the FDs and the LCDs. That coupled with the fact that I just plain like shayne and find her entertaining makes me believe she could be f1. I have no clue, and am watching to see.

Oh jlccaz, I guess I just dont put that much stock in the insider chatter to which you referred. Ellen DeGeneres coming forward with a pick could go either way. She probably was reinforcing what the producers want. It could have been a spoiler or a foiler. I also dont pay quite as much attention to storyline arcs (when it comes to the last two episodes) as many folks do. If I had paid attention to that, I would have been wrong most every season. I mostly just look for the compatibility and mutual attraction. The Ted C. report at Eonline strikes me as the most valid of the spoilers.

I don't put stock in any of it, candidly. But there is a certain vague weight to the accumulated bundle. And I agree with you as usual that the Ted C strand is the most credible strand in the bundle. (Don't put much stock in Chelsea and Amanda info either.)

I will fall out of my chair if he doesn't choose Shayne. It isn't based on anyone in the know. I'm basing it on the interactions I see between them, nothing else. It may not last for a month. I don't know. I hope it does because she's never had stability in her life and it shows. She's insecure and it's going to take alot of patience on Matt's part to show her how special she is to him. But when it comes to natural feelings, I see him with her and he's got it bad! I think she likes him, alot! I think he's more mature than her typical boyfriends and he's not connected to all the HOllywood stuff (all she's ever known). Doesn't mean he won't end up in Hollywood but he was the bachelor from London when she stepped out of that car and said hello. For the first time in a long time, she was just focused on this man and I quote her (You're adorable) is what she found him to be.
