Here's proof of editing regarding Matt and Shayne:

Someone in the ABC boards posted that when Matt said he feels "gutted" that he is not leaving with "her," in Episode 2/Las Vegas, he was supposed to be talking about Chelsea, but the expression on his face as he was giving her the rose did not match what he said. Now I know why. He was actually talking about Shayne.

If you watch his PI (let's call it P1-1) about Shayne being "extremely attractive .. beyond my level of attractiveness," the next thing where he says "BUT the drama side is a turn off" is a voice over. He clearly did not say the word "BUT" in PI-1.

The part where he say's "there's one who is a clear winner for me today" is again a voice over, and the continuing PI (PI-2) shown (with the matching backgound as PI-1) is where he says "I'm a bit gutted that I'm not leaving with her). PI-2 could easily have been a continuation of PI-1 which they spliced up to appear that he was talking about Chelsea, and not Shayne.

But she can fake it pretty well with those smoldering looks she sends through her eyelashes and all that touchy feely crawling she does all over him. That stuff works on a large percentage of the male population ruled by a certain part of their anatomy. I predict the "attraction" on her part to last right up to the time where she finds out that his nice flat in London is a Fleiss rental.

MsFroggy: Once again, I have to totally agree with everything you said you post. This is a season that is so leveraged against true love and has SO many fake elements that I can't begin to take it seriously.
BTW: I didn't listen to the radio interview with CH and Matt, BUT did anybody else think it was strange that Chris asked about "the Mrs."? Fleiss manipulation maybe? I guess this is just another VERY unlikely thing that Matt would genuinely refer to his F1 as his "Mrs." . VERY strange in my view. Number me the among those that could care less about Matt's choice, enjoys the FORT and its sleuthing, watches it as puzzles (not unlike the crossword puzzles, sukoku that I love) and just wants to guess the correct F1, and feels that no animals or bachelorettes were harmed on this shoot. I think no matter who wins the girls are all fine and enjoying the fruits of their experience.

Well, if that is the case, then he should have just given her the rose instead of Chelsea. I think some people are getting annoyed w/how much manipulation is going on and how obvious it is. Maybe that is why the ratings are going way down? I have lost interest in this show and I now watch the show after I DVR it and I FF through a lot of it. I mean Matt should have just sent all the girls home the second episode because none of them ever had a chance, right?

It is said often on FORT, but I'll say it again, that the discussions about the participants are generally understood to be about the TV-version of these people, which may or may not represent who they are in real life (IRL). Based on the premise of The Bachelor, we rely on what's shown in order to tell us the story of how two people come together. When things are said on the show that suggest a couple won't make a good match, we at least look for them to show us how the couple gets past that. Though this is considered a 'reality' show, it is incredibly produced and edited in order to tell the 'stories' of these people. They are the stories of the show, not necessarily the stories of these people IRL - in a sense, even in 'reality' shows, the participants all play roles much like they are actors. So, most of the comments apply to the 'role' of the characters on the show and I think it is understood that those characters are not necessarily who these people really are. Unfortunately, its not quite that simple because these people use their own names and are 'playing' themselves, but again I think most people are able to separate the two. It's difficult if you know them personally, but if you keep the above in mind (or are a huge fan), I would think it helps to know that most people know the difference.

LOL ... that's exactly what I said pages ago ... who knew. That, and her being an expert snowboarder ... the girl is not what Fleiss has been portraying her to be. She is not a media junky (ala Paris Hilton, et al). She obviously doesn't spend all of her time shopping, and has way more interests than Fleiss led us to believe in the beginning.
