OK so this may be old news to a lot of you Bachelor fans. But as I watch Shayne this season and try to figure out if she was 'hired' to do this show. I am constantly reminded of how ABC was trying to talk Paris Hilton into being the next Bachelorette.

I read this at another site.

ABC was trying to convince Paris Hilton to be the next Bachelorette.

The Simple Life star was recently rumored to be the single lady who gets to choose her ideal man on the show, but Hilton insists she’d never consider such an offer.

She said that she doesn't usually like the guys that would want to be on that kind of show.



Then came the rumor that the next Bachelorette may be a soap actress. This of course being Shayne. IMO Shayne was sought out as a replacement for Paris Hilton. She was asked to be on this show hoping to boost ratings.

I do not believe that Shayne came on this show with the purest of intentions. Does that mean she doesn't win? IMO it probably means that she does win.

And then... how about a consolation prize? Shayne goes on Ellen/Jimmy/Extra and gets the sudden amazing news that she's been miraculously chosen to be, tada!, the next Bachelorette! More crocodile tears! She gazes prettily into the camera lens, wipes her eyes and smiles sweetly thanking her many, many, many fans for all the unconditional love and support! Awww! Cue a well-crafted clip or Shayne's greatest hits and segue into a quick rundown of her upcoming projects. Stay tuned!

Ms.Froggy: I think you absolutely nailed it this time. This entire show will be referenced in Ms. Lamas' acting resume, right along "3rd Bikini Girl" She either has been coached with what to do and given a script, or she has an amazing ability to do things to insert herself into any situation for camera time.

Totally agree! Some didn't get the Mer and Ian connection at all and yet it was so obvious to others.like myself ..who saw their emotion and love develop(especially in Mer)each week,...it was difficult to hide,but some did not ever see it...

Ms.Froggy: You have such a wicked sense of humor. I think you've again summed things up. Maybe "Renegade" is truly big in the UK, but honestly, I never heard of it and it was filmed how long ago? When Matt appeared to recognize the series I thought it looked a tad set up.

I agree, the looks that Matt & Shayne have so far are not shared by any other girls. I say so far because each week things can change. But every week we see a little more of the picture.
I thought the Amanda date was very disappointing. They both seemed a little stiff & the kisses just were so, so.
It looks like Matt is trying to play it out byt his heart is gone on someone else.

And who knew Shayne would be so athletic ... gymnastics and an expert snowboarder ... obviously she doesn't spend all of her time shopping for shoes

And that's what makes this show/forum so much fun, that some of us see things one way while others, the total opposite. Like I thought Amanda's date last night was boring and didn't see the connection at all.

As for Shayne, I totally think Matt has it bad for her and still think she'll be the last one standing at the FRC.
