catn3d posted these in the screencaps thread. I think it looks like Shayne on the chair lift She's on a snowboard, she is petite and the clothing matches. All of the othes on the ski date have on a different jacket.

I agree that Matt was completely engaged by Amanda during that little scene. It was almost awkward having Chelsea there, too, because Matt and Amanda seemed to be in their own little world.

Well, initially, I was a little concerned because he was beaming, glowing, initiating physical contact. In particular, while he is holding her in the diner, right after their kiss, she kind of leans away from him (the upper body) kind of reading as, "I'm not sure if I want you to kiss me again," but, later in the date she seems to relax around him, particularly after the exciting rollercoaster ride, and she kisses him in the merry-go-round. So, I think they reached a new level of comfort at some point during the date.

I think it's Shayne as well. First, it's a snowboarder with him and, second, the hat is the same one that Shayne is wearing during that date.

While Matt may have said that he enjoyed the singing, even mesmorized, I didn't really get, from night one, that he was *that* overwhelmed by it. He was more excited talking to Amanda about music (smiling, laughing, engaged by the conversation) after the rugby date. I think, with Ashlee, it was a physical connection and that's that. His facial expressions around her, while she is singing, are rather bland. If you want to understand what I'm trying to say then watch the tennis 1 on 1 and then watch the music conversation 1 on 1 with Amanda.

He has followed the lead of: Marshana (who clings onto him for dear life), Robin (always in his face; aggressive), Chelsea (initiator; aggressive) and, to a great extent, even Shayne (initiator; more passive). With Shayne, he is following her lead in a different way than the other girls. What guy out there wouldn't want to kiss a girl with pouty lips and sad, kiss me, eyes. So, while she initiates things with her facial expressions he is also falling for it and being drawn in; appearing to be the one leading her but it's actually the other way around.

Is he playing all of these girls? While I can read a great deal about Matt I can't get into his mind. Having said that, I think that you can tell a great deal about whether or not he is doing this (leading them on) if he is following 'their' lead. In other words, it's as though Matt is saying, "Okay, which of these girls is going to *let* me lead them on." Then he can focus in on those girls so he knows who to keep each week.

He doesn't seem to be showing any interest, one way or the other, with Noelle. We'll know more next week.

The only woman, thus far, that I have seen him *lead* with is Amanda.

When I first saw this pic I thought of Wallace from "Wallace and Gromit". I'm pretty sure there's one animation in which Wallace wears a hat just like that. I'm waiting for Matt to turn to Shayne and say "Cheese, Gromit! Cheese!"

Maybe Matt chooses who he'll keep and then follows the order the producers choose (for impact in telling the story)

When I watched it I kind of thought that maybe he pricked his palm with a thorn on the stem of the rose. Are the roses de-thorned?

Anyhow, it looked like he pricked it and then he kept looking at it to see if there were any signs of blood.

Can anyone go back and check to see if Shayne was actually kissing Matt back during their time before the rc, please? If this has already been discussed and I somehow missed it when I was reading through the posts, please point me to the correct one. Thank you! Also, is it just me or does Shayne not really seem as interested in Matt as she would have us think that she is?
