I just noticed something that I wanted to discuss. Again, these are screencaps so what I may see might not be how it plays out. Having said that it continues to support my thoughts about the relationship between Matt and Shayne.


What strikes me about this picture the most is where her legs are. They are crossed and facing completely away from Matt. She's practically twisting around to kiss him. This reads as no sexual interest and guarding herself. This is the winery date coming up so it could be that it's explained by the newness but didn't she say she already has feelings for him? If that is true, and she did say that last week, her body language is contradicting what her mouth is saying. Add to that the nodding no while saying she's here for Matt and only Matt I'd be very surprised if she was F1.



In both of these photos she's crossing her legs, at the ankle. Again, this reads as guarding herself; protecting herself sexually. She also seems to be playing with her hair in both shots which can read as nervous or anxious. I'll have a better read on Monday if we are shown this scene.

With Matt, while he is holding her he's holding her in a kind of limp way. Either he doesn't know how to hold a woman that he's really attracted to or he's just casually holding her; as in a friendly way. The other thing that has to do with the way he is holding her is that it is still reading as parental and protective. He does at least seem interested in what she is saying though. I wouldn't say engaged or engrossed; lost in her, that kind of thing. Again, I'll know better on Monday.




Now, with these photos, which we all believe are the fantasy date in Barbados, it's hard to tell if Matt is gripping his left wrist with his right hand but he doesn't seem to be holding her how I would read as never wanting to let her go but more of a holding her like that because it might be awkward kissing while sitting like that so they can kiss without falling over. Very hard to explain what I'm trying to say....arggh.

With Shayne, once again, she is protecting herself with her arms being up around their neck area (similar to the fantasy suite photo). She isn't holding his face nor does she have her arms around him. Instead she has her arms up between them which can be read as so many things. Physically protecting herself from closeness; guarded; you can invade some of my personal space but not all of it; you'll never have all of me. This is why I'm kind of stumped as to why she makes it to F3. Throughout the various show photos there doesn't seem to be a progression of true affection on her part and, for his part, Matt continues to show more of a protective parental type affection than a romantic protection.

Her arms don't look like they are around the neck area? JMO but I don't think we can base how they sit when they kiss on if or why he keeps her around...that sound VERY far fetched to me...

I think the fact that she's sitting on his lap is indication enough that there is interest there--they could be sitting side by side on the couch with her legs pointed away---but she is on his lap--suggests to me a closeness and comfort--I think the only position she could be in to show more sexual interest is if she had her legs wrapped around him--but, that would be weird for the place they are in.

I don't know if I was clear in how I described it. I am not saying that her arms are around his neck; I'm saying that she's holding her arms together in front of her with both of her hands up near his neck/chest area.

As I said earlier, these are photos, so it is hard to tell. I've been reading people my whole life because I'm legally deaf so take what I see for whatever that's worth

I agree, Lynn7. when arms are in an upward posture between both people, it usually looks more like a defense pose..not as much a romantic pose.

Exactly. Now, it could very well be that the whole beach scene might turn out to be read completely different in the end but, as far as I'm concerned, you just can't mistake the defensive pose on three separate occasions (ie: winery, beach and fantasy suite).

I can tell you one thing: I wish there were more screencaps of Matt and Amanda. I've already got, what I believe to be anyhow, a fairly good read on both Chelsea and Shayne, because there are so many scenes and shots to work with but why nothing to work with for Amanda?

The only smidgeon that Fleiss has given us, beyond his blushing around her the first night, is the look he gave Amanda during the fashion show and that, be still my heart, look he gives her while she is limbo dancing.

It still looks like her hands are clasped between them. Otherwise we'd be able to see the ocean and sand as there'd be a larger gap than the tiny little glimpse of light that's in that photo.

I agree she is leaning into Matt but noticing where her legs are, and how they are crossed, tells me that she's physically guarded. As I said, it could have everything to do with how new the relationship is.

ETA: with respect to the outfit and sitting on his lap; I agree that it could just be a ladylike mannerism on her part. Coupled with the other defensive mannerisms, though, is why I read it the way I did.
