I think, after the things he told her on the LCD and the way he reassured her, she most undoubtably thought her chances were better than 50/50. I think she was lulled into a sense of security by Matt, and was in complete shock. Probably not the best comment for her to make, but I think she was in disbelief and probably wasn't filtering very well (who hasn't said something in a moment of anger/disbelief/shock that they haven't later regretted). I totally get this girl and wish her much, much future happiness.

He looked like he just felt sorry for her. He must have known that he wasn't going to pick her. There were moments where he seemed like he was engaged in the conversation with her. I think overall he was sad/torn. Under different circumstances, I'm sure he would have wanted to give Chelsea more time.

Chelsea and Matt seemed genuinely happy to see each other again. There is something really wierd about the way this girl kisses. I don't know how to explain it but she sure puts her all into it

The hands on the face, scratching, head on the palm of his hand and wrinkled forehead while she is talking. Not good. It all reads as aloof, impatient or not completely interested in what she is saying. Bored. It could be that he is uncomfortable because the conversation is about him or, more likely, he is just biding his time. Have you ever had a conversation with someone that you were impatient for it to be over? You probably did very similar gestures. Anyhow, that's what I mean. Also, while he is talking to his mum about what a great girl Chelsea is he is nodding his head 'no' when he says, 'she's got a mad part to her.' So, whatever that statement means in Canadian I think it was meant to be a compliment but he doesn't seem to believe it. Someone should tell Chelsea that if she's really a pharmaceutical sales rep that you are more believable if you look people in the eyes.

Matt was far more animated with Shayne. He seemed really excited to show Shayne where he lives. There was a giddy energy about him. Interesting that Matt seemed to be looking at his brother in a way that read like, 'so what do you think?' or 'not bad hey?' I didn't see these glances with Chelsea. Spilt her wine again? What is that? Three times that we've been shown? When Shayne was talking at dinner Matt was more interested in what she had to say so I think I can safely conclude that Matt isn't embarrassed being talked about but he was impatient for the date with Chelsea to be over. Shayne showed uneasiness, embarrassment?, when she was talking about her parents' many marriages so I believe that she does take marriage seriously. I really liked what she said, "...the man that you marry...you are the man that I am willing to get through anything with."

For the usual family get together to compare pros and cons I was struck by two things. First, when Matts says he has the most passion with Chelsea I actually had to watch him say "Chelsea" a couple of times because it seemed like a voice over but his lips do seem to be saying her name

The second thing, which has to do with the first thing

, sorry, is that when he says that about Chelsea he brings his jaw down, brings his left hand up to rub his neck, all reading as deceptive so I don't believe he means that.

At the beginning of the helicopter ride I was wondering how it was possible to be so far apart from each other but, apparently, it is possible. Chelsea has her hands in her lap. This does not send a very positive message to Matt that she has missed him and is interested in touching him. Later, you see his hand/arm resting on her leg but it's rather casual. He does that alot actually, with all of the girls. Maybe he just isn't the big squishy hug type of person? When he kisses her shoulder there is absolutely no response from this girl. She continues to look straight ahead. I would have expected her to kiss him back. Something. Anything. He doesn't seem overly excited about her gift. He is not animated enough with his facial expressions. Why would he say he's falling in love with her too? Arggh. Men! Didn't Andy do something like that too? Does this girl have to consume his mouth every time she kisses him?

OMG. I just want to tell this girl to grow up already. Memories of being in touch with her inner toddler are coming back to haunt me

Loved her line, "If I don't come back I wish you and Chelsea well."

There is a marked difference in facial animation when he's with Shayne compared to Chelsea. "Did you like my present?"

Can she please, please talk like a 22 year old instead of a five year old who brought Mommy the latest artistic achievement in paper mache from school as a Mother's Day gift?

Well, there isn't much to say beyond that. My 15 year old, who watched with me, kept saying, "Go Chelsea! You rock girl!" after Chelsea was rejected and made some trite comments to Matt. I thought Amanda's rejection speech topped the charts but Chelsea now gets that distinction. I don't think I've ever seen a rejectee say those kinds of things. The proposal, for me, was just ridiculous. Who uses the word 'monkey' in a proposal. How could you take that seriously? Getting engaged is such an adult decision and he just made it look like childs play. Way too much scripted interaction between these two. She's a good lover? Well I guess we know the answer to whether Matt "I own shares in Trojan" Grant had sex with Shayne during the fantasy date.

What a way to end off the "Most Romantic Proposal in Bachelor history"...with Happy Days music

Someone asked me to watch Matt and Shayne on Ellen. All I really have to say about it is why so much distance between them on the couch? She has her legs crossed and pointing toward Ellen not the love of her life. Yes, the crossing of her legs probably has more to do with the short little dress she was wearing but why were they pointed at Ellen. That didn't look good.

I also found it odd that she kept interupting him over and over. That shows either a lack of respect for the love of your life or an indication of self importance.

There was very little touching by either of them though Matt did rest his arm on the back of the couch and, once or twice, rubbed her left shoulder. But she seems to be leaning away from him...she's closer to Ellen than she is to Matt. She also kept her hands tucked in her lap, for the most part, as opposed to holding his hand. Aren't they newly engaged? At least it was only announced two days ago so why wasn't there more energy from him? What happened to that?

For all of the seemingly *one* person that we saw on the show, given that she was always hanging onto him like a monkey, I was surprised not to see at least a little of this. She seemed like a different person than who was portrayed on the show. Indifferent to him in some ways. Why so clingy before and now she looks like she can't be far enough away from him?

I'll bet Matt is glad that there are no more Monday night viewings that he has to work through with her. It doesn't sound like it was alot of fun for him being kicked out on the balcony

Puts his whole comment of, "obviously, it's difficult on the missus seeing me canoodling..." or something like that, in a completely different perspective. He was probably giving that radio interview outside while being locked out there on the balcony.
