I think Chelsea and Amanda have known all along shayne had been given the edge and she was THE ONLY competition. Maybe that's why Chelsea had a hard time looking him in the eye and being opening up to him. She couldn't really believe he was serious about her. And, of course, he wasn't (or wasn't allowed to be). Either way, he's a DB.

I think Chelsea's reaction was the only honest and real thing about the FRC. She'd been led on, lied to, and manipulated throughout and then had just been told he was throwing her over for the actress on the show who was the most fake, phoney, false one there. IMHO, it was one of only two reality moments in this reality TV show. The other was Amanda's reaction at F3. Two real ladies vs. one false and the false one wins. No wonder the ratings suck this season.

Yes, Lynn, I'm really interested in your analysis as well. I wasn't quite sure what to think last night. Shane just seemed so phony last night and I actually like her but it really did seem like acting to me. The only that I caught that I wasn't sure about was when Matt took out the ring, it looked like her right leg almost went out from under her but that could have been contrived as well. I just don't know, the whole thing didn't strike me as genuine.

Did anyone notice that when Shane and Matt were laying on the bed after she gave him the picture, she kinda squealed and Matt winced? I had to rewind it a couple of times but he definitely winced. I wonder how long it will take for him to get sick of listening to that on a daily basis? LOL

I believe that off camera Amanda, Chelsea and Matt individually and together had substantive (off camera) conversations about Shayne's suspicious presence and role on the show. And that at the FRC she was essentially accusing him of selling out in the end, going for the TV PROPOSAL instead of staying true to himself. This is essentially my central "issue" with Matt. He never manned up along the way. He simply tried to please the producers, by disposition or by ambition to break into talk show hosting.

There is a small chance an alternative scenario happened. He did complain to Chelsea about Shayne, but things changed for him later as he got to know Shayne for real. Either way, it's all just TV LOVE, not real. So, we and they can all close the book in peace, remembering it's fiction. Not a documentary.

Not really telling. This thread, at least for me, serves the purpose of analyzing body language to help determine (along with the edit, screencaps, and media) who will be the F1. Since we found out the F1 last night, I don't think there is much left to analyze

As for the proposal, I do not think it was a joke at all. I think that Matt finally was given the chance to tell the world that he is in love with Shayne which is something that I saw all along. None of us know how things will turn out in time, but I do know that we all see things differently and we form our own opinions whether right or wrong. You know the old saying "you say tu-may-toh and I say tu-mah-toh" ....and this show surely reinforces that for me over most any other show on TV!
So with all that said, Thank You for your great analysis show after show over the last two seasons and I really look forward to reading your analysis of Deanna. She was not by favorite last season by any means but I am going to watch her show and hope that she finds true love like Jenni is rumored to have.

Great post! And I agree... the thing I noticed last night was that even during the FRC Chelsea seemed to have a hard time looking Matt in the eyes at times, Shayne on the other hand could not take her eyes off of her man!!!

Count me out of that statement. I have to say that going in to the fantasy dates that Shayne was not my favorite. I was on the fence about her most of the season. BUT - Chelsea was always one of my LEAST favorites, along with Marshana and Kelly.

Shayne grew on me - and by the end I was definitely rooting for her. And maybe Chelsea had a right to say what was on her mind - she was hurt - BUT she always knew that there was a 50-50 chance she'd be going home in the end. Her attack on Shayne did not reflect well on her character. What a shame that in the end she went home looking petty.

I wish there had of been a way for Amanda to tell Chelsea to call him a douchebag when she left. That would have been priceless.

Thank Goodness we don't have to hear Oh Matttttttttttttttt anymore. I got to where I gagged every single time.

Oh and by the way, there have been some Shayne fans come out overnight but, the majority are still not buying this farce.

I noticed that at the dinner with Chelsea in London, Matt had trouble making eye contact with her. At least he was feeling guilty.
