I probably described it more of an exaggeration to try to emphasize my point. I think that if a guy comes out and says things like 'she's out of my league looks wise' or 'we come from such different worlds' then, to pick her, is more of an ego boost to him. He doesn't say things like that about the other girls so he reads differently. I'm not suggesting that he doesn't like her because I think he does. The problem I have is that if he does pick her it would come across like 'look who I have on my arm' (eye candy) as opposed to 'I love who I have on my arm.' Thus a conquest. Does that make sense?

I also don't see Shayne as being phoney. Initially, I kind of questioned a few things about her but I think she is just being adorable and complicated Shayne. Multi-dimensional.

Lynn, I see what you're saying here, and I agree with you - it seems Matt may be 'totally smitten' with Shayne, but, at least for the camera, he laughs at her antics like a parent does with a child, which to me is a bit condescending. I think he finds her a total 'catch' because of the way she looks, but does not consider her his intellectual equal. I'm sure I'm gonna rile some people with that comment, but that's what I see out of Matt. Clearly that's what he was saying to Holly. Its a respect thing - he finds her hot, probably has some genuine affection for her, may even fancy himself falling in love with her, but his respect is begrudging at best. I think that's where the 'pleasantly surprised to see Shayne is the head of the household' or something like that comes in for the HTD description.

Thanks for taking the time to respond and clarify I just am glad we have a place to come to with various opinions though I respectfully disagree on where we see what direction Matts mindsight is I wish I could get inside that guys head and see who the F1 is seriously lol I really sincerely hope that whoever the gal is he is not doing this for the wrong reasons that was initially my point that so much emphasis is on what the girls motives are but not on his based on the rumor but I just wish that these rumors wouldn't even come out kind of spoils it somewhat for me anyways.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hope I made sense???

Exactly! All you need to do is look at male professional athletes. A high percentage of them have a beautiful model type girlfriend/wife. While my own 15 year old is a model I wouldn't exactly say that this profession is athletic.

I can see that, altho she's a little old for him....

Ha! My son, who, granted is only 12, thinks Chelsea really likes women but she just hasn't realized it yet

my daughter is 13 and a plays hockey on a mixed team, she loves to flirt with the guys on opposing teams so I'm not too worried about her preference, unlike another female relative who also plays hockey and does prefer women!!! Tell your son , I think Chelsea likes guys just fine, I don't think she would kiss them like that if she didn't!!!
