Re: Body, Lip and Facial Communication Bachelor 12 *SPOILERS*

Hope yall will read this whole thing. You might find it interesting. My son has always had a knack for reading people. He loves telling me what I am thinking by watching my body language. He is right more than I let him know.

Ok, this post is just for fun and I am not, repeat am not trying to cause arguments.

My son is 27 and he came this weekend for a visit with his momma. When The Bachelor first aired with Alex he still lived at home and we watched it together and we had a good time debating and trying to solve the "puzzle". He and I are very close but not necessarily like minded on most things.

Well, to try to make this as short as possible I asked him last night if he would like to sit with me and watch the shows from Episode 1 to present (he hasn't had time to watch at all this season). He was actually willing to do it and we sat for hours and watched and talked. I did not share any of my views as he shared his with me. He kept asking, "Momma, what do you think"? I told him I would tell him after we had finished and he had told me what he really and truly thougt. I did tell him who would be the final 6 only.

He hated Marshana's attitude. He thought Robin was "nuts". He thought Noelle was cute and seemed sweet but said he didn't "feel it". He said Matt wouldn't either.

Now this is were I thought it got interesting. When the Idaho episode started he starting really talking about Amanda, Shayne, and Chelsea.

He was totally turned off by Chelsea. He didn't like her at all. He said he would feel like he was with a man if he dated her (just his opinion) and that he was sure Matt liked her as a "best bud".

He though Shayne was cute and he loved her eyes. He kept saying, "This girl is way too young" and their maturity levels were so far apart that after a week in the real world he would get out of the relationship and change his phone #.

He loved Amanda. In fact the second she stepped out of the limo he said she's my pick. As we watched he said if Matt didn't pick her he was moving to Florida and find her. He said he thinks she wins. He thought the joke would be funny.

I could go on and on but I won't. I told him my thoughts and that Amanda was my favorite this season. He was surprised that it wasn't Shayne because I usually like the young ones.

It is very interesting

I really wish they would show more of Amanda lol!
I know some say "maybe they're not showing, because there's nothing to show" I wonder that sometimes myself, but....why does he keep picking her!
Is there something there we are not allowed to see?
We get to see why he is probably picking Shayne and Chelsea.
But not Amanda! I tell ya this season is driving me nuts

That being said, it makes complete sense that Shayne is more "attractive," (regardless of appearance) to Matt because Amanda doesn't evoke the same "protect me" feelings in Matt that Shayne does.

In other words, because Shayne is the more vulnerable of the 2, that would typically give her an edge.
I think it would give her an edge if that is the type of woman he is looking for. Some men run from that.

This might not be the proper place to post this, but since the discussion has been going on in this thread, I will post my response in this thread. Feel free to move it a more proper place, mods. Anyway, I am honestly really getting confused about all the 'he won't pick Chelsea because she is a tomboy' stuff. Are girls that like to play sports but are still completely lovely girls not allowed to have boyfriends/husbands, etc.? I just do not understand how the fact that she had fun playing rugby and is fairly competitive would mean that she is not good girlfriend/wife potential. Are women like Mia Hamm, Jenni Finch and Monica Seles just supposed to hide their potential and talent so that they are worthy of a man? I guess the feminist in me just finds that utterly disturbing. Chelsea, while athletic, is also beautiful, sweet and fun.

Actually, in his interviews, one of the impetuses for him doing TB was because American women are more into sports than European women. He likes athleticism ... a tomboy might just be up his alley.

mommyof2poodles, I think its wonderful that you have that kind of relationship with your son. He sounds like a wonderful guy! In the long run, I suspect that Amanda would be better off if your son DOES go to Florida and find her. I suspect, though, that once he gets here, he may find a VERY LONG LINE of guys vying (or 'eyeing' ) for her attention.

I don't think all men feel like she is too tomboyish. My husband thinks she is very pretty. Some men like girlie girls and some men like tomboyish girls. Everybody sees Chelsea different in my family. I think she is beautiful, I just like Amanda more and my daughter likes Chelsea then Shayne best. And as in my earlier post my son just does not like her at all. Just opinions.

I was going to say because he's a preppy banker type that he would prefer a more 'refined lady'....then it just dawned on me that the guy was captain of his rugby team in college/university w/e. HMMM...maybe he would prefer the tomboy type. Good points Gals!!

I've had this impression of him as well. I think Matt is genuinely interested in Chelsea and doesn't think she's too tomboyish - he just wants to know she can reciprocate the affection, etc. If he doesn't pick Chelsea then that's the issue IMO, and if Chelsea's not that way, then they aren't a good match. I had roommates in college who played sports and were very much like Chelsea in demeanor - believe me, there were plenty of guys interested in the, but they were pretty much all jocks too. In fact, that's the difference, I think - I think a non-jock guy would not respond as well to her.

I'm right with you (though as a former athlete, I'm probably biased). One would think that an athletically inclined man might like a sporty woman, so that they could play <insert sport here> or do <insert activity here> together.

Mommyof2poodles, I love that you could get your son to watch the show with you! That's great!
