Bachelor 12 Media Thread ~ Spoilers

In the brief stuff that I have read here and watched a few of these interview clips, he is in LA now. Is this just for the preliminary promotion of the show or is he going to be in the U.S. the whole time, as hasn't it also been posted that his job as a 'high-end banker' was not really the truth and he actually quit his job before filming? And hasn't he indicated that he has an interest in acting or something??

He is very well spoken in these interviews with the personality, humor, and looks to fit right in with a camera on him .... if it comes down to him staying in the U.S. I'm sure he takes the chance, and by the end of the show, if it is true love he will need a job to stay and acting/broadcasting etc is one of the easiest ways ... ABC may just have a job waiting for him! If it is the LA entertainment industry that he is interested in getting into, should be no surprise that Shayne lasts for a long time, maybe to the end.

It looks like he could have a lot of opportunities for himself by the end of the show, we will quickly see if he is another famewhore or not!

Fleiss will find a way to help him stay, if it comes to that. "Consult" on Deanna's season, interview candidates for next season, whatever. Fleiss wants a "win" this time.

As for who he might be staying for, I'm thinking that Shayne and Amanda have reasons to not leave their career base. Shayne because actresses tend to want to be in Hollywood, where the action is. And although she has lived in England, Amanda has a compelling reason to stay because she's done extremely well as an account exec and even won the Addy award with her team. Yes, she could probably find a comparable job in London, but she may want to build on her current success.

Matt's probably got more flexibility than either of them, since he left his job to do the show. I do think "staying" builds a somewhat stronger case for Shayne, however. And I do like Shayne and Amanda about equally at this point.

London is a much , much bigger advertising center than Orlando. Amanda would do well to spend time at a firm there and it sounds as though she has a great resume. Additionally, I imagine ABC, or Time Warner have some contacts there. They seem to have good heads on their shoulders. They'll figure it out if they want to. They both probably have lots of choices.

True. I'm just wondering if she might want to stay put and be a big fish in a small pond for a while longer, so she can take stronger resume to her next job. Plus, she can't very well quit her job and go to London until the show is done broadcasting, so maybe Chris's reference to Matt "staying" is more a short-term issue than a long-term issue. Or maybe her experience living in the UK made her decide she prefers living in the States.

Or maybe he chose Shayne. But the editing thus far makes me think it's Amanda, and my gut tells me Amanda. Last season, my gut told me no one, and my gut has picked the right girl every time prior to that, even when my heart and head wanted someone else.

It's about 10 miles from RAF Upper Heyford which used to be a US Air Force base until it closed in 1993. I believe from what I've read about Amanda R, that she was an Air Force dependent. Military.com shows a Paul Rantucci as a member of the USAF, together with the fact that she was born in Clovis NM (just next to Cannon AFB) and she listed her hometown as Niceville, FL (Eglin AFB).

Very interesting! I think since she said she'd never seen the show before applying reinforces that she's naive to think her removal wasn't intentional.
Nothing about Fleiss is unintentional. Sounds like she might have gotten a bit of advance education from The FORT, though...

But it's good to know she didn't feel like Matt was for her, hence no hurt feelings.

Chris says, for you, you came into it not serious, but it got serious. Matt more or less agrees, but says what really happened was that over the course of filming he relaxed, became himself, and real things happened.
